Answer This Question
A: The only way to tell if breakers are compatible is to check the panel label, which lists breaker types specifically approved for your panel.
by|Feb 5, 2022
A: You should actually check he NEC or an electrician (which I am not) to absolutely certain, since it is my understanding that the technically correct answer is that breakers from one manufacturer should not be mixed into the breaker box of another manufacturer. But it is also my understanding that absent code concerns Eaton's UL classified breakers are designed and tested to be both mechanically and electrically interchangeable with circuit breakers manufactured by ITE/Siemens, and specific other popular bands such GE and Square D.

A: As long as they are the same size or type then yes. I’ve done it before

Q:Will Square D or Siemens fit in a Westinghouse box?
by|Dec 31, 2021

Answer This Question
A: Very unlikely, each panel lists the breakers or devices that are approved for use in the enclosure.
by|Jan 1, 2022
A: Eaton owns Westinghouse and Square D, therefore Eaton or square D will fit.
by|Jan 1, 2022
A: I don't know, but I believe circuit breakers are labeled (small print) with a "type" classification. See if the Square D or Siemens match what you already have in the Westinghouse box. And the box itself should tell you what breakers are compatible.

Q:I am going to use the Eaton BR 2100 Amp 2 Pole Circuit Breaker to feed a sub panel, will the breaker handle the 3-3-3-5 copper wire?
by|Dec 26, 2021

Answer This Question
A: I assume the 3-3-3-5 copper that you are referring to, is #3 thhn copper wire. #3 is good for 100 amps
by|Dec 28, 2021
A: Definitely! I used the same setup for my sub panel.
by|Dec 28, 2021
A: Butch,
Eaton's BR2100 accepts a wire range of #4-1/0 wire. It will accept stranded wire so 3-3-3-5 copper wire is fine to use. For further questions please contact our Technical Resource Center at 877-386-2273 opt 2, opt 3, opt 1.
