Q:Can this be used over top of an existing cheap/thin hardwood floor that's on top of concrete? Mohawk says not to install over existing floor. Figured the use of this product would be a layer of protection
          by|Mar 13, 2024

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam. The ECF would be better suited to be installed over the concrete. There is the possibility that you trap moisture between the underlayment and the existing hardwood floor. This could create an ideal environment for mold, mildew and fungi. If you have any additional questions, contact our customer service team at 855-810-8922. Good luck with your project.

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam. ECF is approved for use with radiant flooring systems However, ECF is not rigid and has some cushion (3.2mm) that allows for a small amount of movement. Therefore, it is not an ideal underlayment for stone or tile applications. Please visit our website at www.ecfunderlayment.com for more technical information. Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam. We are the manufacturer and do not have any influence on where The Home Depot ships ECF. After reviewing the website, it looks like this size is unavailable in Alaska. However, the good news is that the 75 sq ft rolls are stocked at these locations. We suggest working with the store to see if there is a possibility of securing the stock you require. Best of luck! If you have any additional questions, contact our customer service team at 855-810-8922.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam. ECF is patent protected and the ONLY underlayment on the market with a class 1 rated, 6 mil vapor barrier. This ensures the lowest vapor transmission rate and permeance than any other underlayment available. ECF was created as an underlayment for use with vinyl plank, laminate and wood flooring. However, ECF is not approved for use with carpet tiles. If you have additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 855-810-8922. Good luck with your project.
