Q:Can this unit be mounted under a bathroom sink inside the cabinet? How much clearance is needed around it? (ie. can I still put other things inside the cabinet)

Answer This Question
A: Hello,
This unit requires 6” (304.8mm) above and below the heater and 6” (152.4mm) in front of and to the sides of the heater. The water heater should not be located in an area where possible leakage will damage the area adjacent to it or to lower floors of the structure. Avoid installing your tankless water heater in a location prone to excessive humidity, moisture, or dust, or where it may be splashed with water or other liquids. We do not advise installing under water pipes that might leak or condense moisture that could then drip onto the heater.

Q:Can the 6T serve as a "booster"? Reason is that the line from our main water heater is quite long, takes minutes before hot \comes to the sink. Plan is to hook up the hot water line to the cold intake on the 6T. Incoming temp would be 130 deg.

The POU 4T HAS A GPM of 0.5-0.7 with incoming temperatures between 60-70F. This is ideal for point-of-use or low-flow applications such as bathroom sinks. Your average shower uses 1.5GPM of water.

A: Good day and thank you for contacting EcoSmart through the Home Depot support. Both the ECO POU 4 & 6 are made for handwashing which are supplied with an aerator that is rated at 0.5 GPM. The aerator reduces water flow, but does not reduce pressure. The temperature rise information is all stated on our website and marketed on the box as well. If you have any questions or any concerns, please feel free to contact our customer support at 1.877.474.6473. Thank you.

A: Hi,
We are sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with the water heater you have questioned on. It sounds like you’re having trouble with the water pressure when using the heater. This could be due to a number of factors, including the flow rate of the heater, the size of your plumbing pipes, or the water pressure in your home.
The POU 6T is designed for point-of-use applications and is suitable for one bathroom faucet or up to two low flow faucets running simultaneously. It includes two optional 0.35 GPM aerators that thread onto the faucet to provide an even and consistent temperature and flow. If the water pressure is significantly reduced, it might be worth checking if these aerators are installed correctly or if they are clogged.
As for the warranty, the POU 6T comes with a 5-year warranty for leaks and a 1-year warranty for parts. If you’re having issues with the unit, it might be worth reaching out to EcoSmart’s customer service for assistance. They may be able to provide troubleshooting advice or offer a replacement if the unit is still under warranty.
Remember, safety first. Always turn off the power supply before inspecting your water heater.

Q:For under the kitchen sink application...We have a single-control faucet that mixes hot and cold water...not individual separate control knobs. Is this type of unit compatible with our current faucet? It does not appear so...
