A:  Yes, I have a couple of dry mount presses and they get over 200 degrees sometimes and the table never gets more than a little warm and dissipates the heat quickly.

A:  I will say yes, but the main thing is to have the butcher block sealed well. I used Tung oil and my wife has been putting hot pots on there and had no problems, I keep telling her to put a pot holder down first. Hope that helps

A:  The bottom shelf is part of the support system for the bench. I would not recommend not using it.

A:  I would not do that, I don't think it would be stable enough without it. My big problem is the particleboard top. I bought two workbenches but had to send one back it was so battered.

A:  Yes if you can one that is not damaged. It only took me three tries before I got one I could use.

A:  No, it is a ridged assembly. also, I added lock-washers, when I assembled mine. I'm using it as a base for a wood lathe, and it holds up to the vibration very well, very stable. Very happy with the quality.

A:  The shelf dimensions are 60" x 30" (W x D).

A:  20 7/8" x 54 3/4" and roughly 20" from the top of the bottom shelf ridges to the bottom of the table top frame. I would NOT recommend putting something heavy on this bottom shelf.

A:  Sorry, the legs are sheet metal formed in a "V" shape for strength. You would have to add something to the bottom to mount the casters to.

A:  This unit is designed to be stationary, adding casters would create an unstable work platform.

A:  NO. The bottom of the 'legs' are nothing more than bent sheet metal, with NO method to mount casters without SIGNIFICANT DESIGN MODIFICATIONS. I had hoped to do the same, but....

A:  No. There isn't a hole to easily add casters.

A:  Around 85 lb, give or take 5lb.

A:  The shipping weight is 77.8 pounds. so the weight of the top is a bit less than that.
