Q:The product information says that it is 8.3 inches thick. Is it honestly 8.3 inches thick, since that seems like an incorrect figure?

Answer This Question
A: It is not 8+ inches think. I would say it was 1/8” thick. It was like a durable rubberized floor mat. Easy to work with, heavy duty. The product is excellent- but expensive.

Q:My local store is out of the Liberty Base and won't have any for some time. I have to do my low slope patio roof next week and want to use the Liberty cap sheet. I'm not concerned about warranty coverage, the patio will be rebuilt in 3 years.

A: I used this on a small shed 16 x 8. The roof was leaking and had shingles already installed. I put this over the existing shingles 2 years ago and have not had any leaks since.

A: Hello, the Liberty Cap product doesn't necessarily require the base sheet. An asphalt primer meeting ASTM D41 would be applied on the plywood deck and then covered over with Liberty Cap. This provides a 10 year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If the Liberty Base product is used as part of your installation, it would provide 15 years of limited warranty. Please give our technical team a call at 877-GAF-ROOF to discuss your installation in detail. Thank you for your question.

A: Hello, this product is used at the eave edge and should be installed at least 24" above the warm wall. It's also installed at the other vulnerable areas of the roof at areas such as valleys, around penetrations and at wall to roof junctions. FeltBuster would be installed on the remaining areas of the roof. Thank you for your question
