Questions and Answers for GE 12 in. LED Wireless Under Cabinet Light

A:  There is nothing to do to fix it on your end. They are cheap.

A:  I used Command velcro strips so I could take it down to change out the batteries.

A:  You need to remove the lid that hosts the batteries by pressing gently the buttons on both sides near the switch. Using both hands, slide the lid outwards (keep pressing the buttons). It will come out easily.

A:  The only thing that is MOUNTED under the cabinet, is the bracket that holds the actual light fixture! This is what you mount under a cabinet first. Then, you take the light fixture with the new batteries installed and slide the fixture into the bracket from right to left until it clicks in place and your'e done! We had to replace one light fixture after 2 yrs and it was easy as the bracket was all ready installed and ready for the new one! WE both love these touch on/off lights under the counter and they are BRIGHT too!

A:  I'm no expert, but did you remove it, remove batteries, then re-insert batteries and try it again? This is not a high dollar item, so you may have just gotten a "lemon" If you have your receipt, return it or exchange it. Sometimes they can give store credit cards if you do not have your receipt but return the packaging. I've NEVER known Hd to give customers a hassle on things like this. By the way...if you replace it with another one...it too will slide into the same mounting!

A:  I only know of the on / off switch. Home Depot will have a record of your sale if you purchased the light with a credit card. I would return the light for a new one. I had one installed and it stopped working. I had to buy a new one. Good luck.

A:  I had to purchase a good quality 3M tape to reattach the light.

A:  I used 3m command velcro strips instead of the tape that came with the lights.

A:  Use a Velcro glue strip, which you can buy at a hardware store.

A:  Battery life will vary with usage and decrease over time.

A:  Mine only lasted a couple months and I only turn them on when I'm preparing meals. I eat out a lot.

A:  Not certain how long the batteries last, but I'm satisfied with the life of the batteries in other applications of the same light.

A:  It will depend on how long you leave the light on and what type of batteries you're using. We have two of these lights, one has Duracell AA the other has rechargeable AA, and though we don't use them that often the batteries have lasted for months. Again, this will depend on how long the light is left on but the good thing about LED bulbs is that they draw little current.

Please Note: Different types of batteries (new or used) should not be mixed. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the fixture and disposed of properly. A:  Take a magnifying glass and look carefully at the battery insert area. Put the + end of the batteries next to the + in the insert area.

A:  This unit should be suitable for use at a vanity. You may want to use more than one.

A:  Slide the light off the screws and open it up using the release button. If you're using velcro, the release button is still an option. You squeeze and slide the back off the lights.

A:  Hello Fred, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our Battery Operated Fixture! To replace the batteries, simply press in the bottom tab and pull back the cover and remove it in the direction of the arrow. Then, Insert 8 AA batteries (not included), noting polarity and replace the cover. If you mount this fixture using the double sided snap-in locking tape (very much like hook & loop tape, except it is stronger and “snaps” into place) instead of the screw mount option, you can still easily replace batteries. Note: Since these fixtures utilize LED technology, there are no bulbs to replace - ever. A:  No, I do not believe the fixture comes with soft white bulbs.
