Q:Does the convection fan run constantly or intermittently in convection modes? We recently purchased this range and while the exhaust fans run while the oven is on the convection fan visible in the back of the oven never seems to turn when cooking in "convection bake" or "convection roast" modes.

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Laura - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE Model # JGS760SELSS! We are happy to address your concern regarding the convection fan. The fan will only run when the bake burner is off during the convection bake. The fan does not run when the bake burner is on and calling for heat. The fan will cycle on and off frequently; this is normal. Take a look at the following link - Gas Range Convection Baking and Roasting: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=22112 - If the fan is not operating, a technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis. Q:Can the burners be lit with a match when the electrical power fails? Also, is the stainless steel onthis range fingerprint free?

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes you can light it with a match or BBQ grill lighter during a power outage. Oven will NOT operate without power as the oven is computer controlled and regulated. Surface is NOT fingerprint free. Would recommend Wieman Stanless Steel wipes for that.

      by|Sep 2, 2020

A:  Hi Bobbi! Thanks for your interest in model number JGS760SELSS. We'll be happy to help you with these questions! The surface burners may be lit with a match. Using extreme caution, hold a lit match near the ports beneath the surface burner cap, then slowly turn the knob to the LITE position. Once lit, surface burners will continue to operate normally. In the event of a power failure, the oven is inoperable and no attempt should be made to operate it. This range is not fingerprint resistant stainless steel. We currently offer model number PGS930YPFS in the fingerprint resistant stainless steel finish. We hope this helps! - Emily

Q:Can you use butane with this range or do you have to buy one for butane?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi Kaykay121596 - Thanks for considering GE! Butane cannot be used to operate our gas ranges. If used, large reddish flames would smoke up the range and the house. It is not readily available except in commercial grades, which can't be used with our residential use ranges. All of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas and also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:  I'm not sure you mean Butane.... You can not use Butane with this appliance, You can use Propane or LP. You will have to convert the stove to Propane which I did when I received it. Hope this helps.

Q:Is the orifice for liquid propane provided?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Kim, thank you for your question! This range leaves the factory set for use with natural gas. If you want to convert to propane gas, the conversion must be performed by a qualified propane gas installer. The conversion orifices and instructions can be found on the back of the range. We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. – CV

Q:My oven will be installed near a corner and I have a drawer coming out from the left side. What is the depth of the oven from the wall? I see in the dimensions that it says 26 3/4 without the handle. Is that including the 2 inches to rear wall? It looks like there is a rear trim and if that rear trim, which I am assuming is required, is flush against the wall, then can I assume the front of the oven is 26.75 inches, not including the handle. Or would that be 28.75 inches if you include the 2 inch rear trim? Also, I don’t know if you know this; but what is the height of the handle, what is the height of the oven at the point where it is the farthest from the wall. This is assuming the adjustable legs at their shortest, and that they can extend half an inch.

Q:how many BTU/HR does this use when running all burners and oven? There is 1/2 inch black iron service running to my range from the 1" main in basement, and then the 1/2 flex pipe says it supplies 53,000 BTU/HR. But if I add up all five burners, that exceeds 53,000 BTU, and i haven't even included the oven in the gas usage. HOwever I realize the likelyhood of running all five on max output probably wouldn't ever happen, so just looking for a reasonable expectation on if my 1/2 line is sufficient or if i need a 3/4 inch line....or a shorter flexilble line that has higher BTU/hr

                          Answer This Question

A:  Hello Jud - Thank you for the excellent question on this amazing range. The total BTUs with all elements being used would be 74K BTUs. However, as you said, this would be very unlikely to reach. We do recommend a 1/2" gas line for installation of this range. Keep in touch! - JB
