A:  If that was happening to me I would be calling the company and see what they say, because it sounds like something's wrong with the remote or the fan itself.

by|Apr 21, 2020

A:  Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. When using the handheld remote, it is important to not click through the speeds too fast. Wait about a second between presses. Going through the speeds too fast could cause the receiver to get mixed signals. Before making settings in the app, make sure the fan's current settings are displayed in the app screen. If that doesn't resolve the issue, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

A:  Thank you for your question. At this time, there is not a wall bracket for this remote. Some customers have used a small piece of Velcro to attach the remote to the wall when it is not in use.

A:  This remote will replace the one you have, so yes you can use it.

      by|Sep 8, 2019

A:  Thank you for your question. Without knowing which fan you have, we can not answer with 100% accuracy. In general, if your fan has a remote, the original receiver will need to be replaced with the receiver included with this remote. If your fan has a built-in receiver that can not be replaced, this remote will not work. If you would like to confirm compatibility, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to confirm.

A:  Yes, it will work. You're basically just replacing the remote control element/power module in the top of the fan housing. Just remember to have the bluetooth antenna outside of the metal housing. The range is poor, almost line of sight and within 10 - 12 feet of your hub.

A:  My fan is the same and has worked fine.

A:  On/off is how to reset, it can be tricky to say the least.

            by|May 16, 2020

A:  Thank you for your question. The firmware has recently been updated and the reset is actually 9 cycles of on and off at 3 second intervals. Start with power to the module off. This is covered in the Wink app when trying to add a new device. If the device does not connect to the hub, you be lead to the reset option. Another thing to consider is changing the dip switches in the remote and receiver. Most random control issues are due to another device in the area operating on the same frequency. Change the dip switches in the battery compartment of the remote and on the receiver. The dip switches can be to any combination of up or down as long as the remote and receiver settings match. Set each remote/receiver set to a different setting to avoid one remote controlling 2 fans. If that doesn't resolve the issue, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to assist further.

A:  I have found that i had to re pair it when this happens. It seems that the remote still works in most cases. In some cases however, I had to cut power to the module via the breaker/switch to get it to act normal again.

                by|Nov 12, 2019

A:  Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Please make sure that the dip switches in each set of remote and receiver is set to a unique setting. There is an installation video (located on the product page along with the alternate images) that covers this in detail. If that doesn't resolve the issue, pease call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

A:  Thank you for your question. This remote requires the Wink Hub to take advantage of the remote's smart features.

                    by|Jul 30, 2019

A:  No. The Amazon hub is VERY picky and will only work with the few devices amazon approves. This will work with smartthings (there is a custom device handler written for it, info is easily found online), Wink, Home Assistant, etc. In general, I wouldn't recommend the Amazon Hub for Zigbee devices for that reason.

A:  Thank you for your question. This particular remote is not compatible with Alexa or Google as it is packaged. In general most remote control fan can be converted to smart fans by adding the Bond Smart Wifi Ceiling fan remote hub (model # BD-1000). The bond hub acts as a translator between the remote and Google Assistant or Alexa.

A:  I control mine by going to SmartThings community. On their forum they tell you how to download a custom driver, publish it to the Samsung site, and attach driver to ST app. It's kind of a pain. I did finally get it to work, but whenever the power goes out, it breaks my connection, and I have to delete it, and start all over. After doing that twice, I gave up. Hopefully it sounds like maybe Hampton bay has written their own driver and it's easier? Where did you hear that you can control the fan using Alexa?

A:  That has always been the case. It is a Zigbee controller, and can be controlled by any Zigbee hub.

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the fan connects to the receiver and the. The receiver has a power and neutral wire that connects to the house wiring. A:  No it doesn't, all you need is load, hot and ground lines. Presumably, you already have a physical switch on the wall. Note that this only replaces the controller in the fan box not the switch.
