Answer This Question
A: NO, it is held on by a big - large metal rivet. That is not removable unless you drilled it out. I have not looked at it that close to actually remove yet.

Q:I just got this jack in the mail today and I cannot get the jack release valve to accept the handle. What am I doing wrong? I am using the end that has the square hole but it won't go over the bolt. I guess I could take a hammer to it but that seems extreme.

Answer This Question
A: Make sure the bolt that holds the handle in is loose enough to allow the handle to drop down into the hole. Then tighten the bolt or screw back down so the handle wont come back out. It is either a Phillip's head or hex head but not sure. I'm not currently in front of the jack. Look down in the hole and if you see the threads sticking through you need to back it out so it is flush then slide the handle in. After the handle falls in tighten the screw or bolt back down.

A: Do the following:
1. Check the release valve again, if you have a digital caliper measure the dimension of the release valve
screw and compare the square hole size.
2. Use the file and make the hole fit the bolt.
3. Return to the store and replace with the new jack.

A: This jack came with safety wire hook between leverage release valve and wheels rot. It there to prevent it from popping up during transportation. All you have to do just remove and discard the hook. Careful use a pliers pull it.

A: move to the upright position and then place the handle down into it and turn slowly while gently pushing down. It should engage at some point. Mine is tough sometimes as well.

A: Tim, that was exactly the problem. I feel so dumb now, but it was late at night. I was tired and working in a somewhat dark garage. I found nothing in the owners manual about this. Anyway, I actually am relatively competent working on my own cars. I just didn't notice this bolt. Thanks!
