Q:Can this be used on the ground without the legs? I'm looking for a planter that is deeper and wider than a window box that I can put on top of palm tree roots so thick and tangled nothing will grow.

Q:I am getting ready my second one of these, they are fantastic! I wish you would come up with a cage or frame you could put shade cloth on. It gets so hot here in Texas. I haven't been able to figure a good way to do this.

A: Depends on what herbs and how big you expect the plants to get. The surface area of mine is about 17x42”. I know I’ve over planted with 10-15 fall vegetable plants in each. I figure I can always prune some out if they get too big. If you start your herbs from seed, over planting won’t be costly. If you’re buying plants, you might want to limit to 8-10.

A: There is a tube at one end where you can fill it with a hose (there is no connection). The bottom of the tub can be filled and will last several days depending on the weather. There is a platform that keeps the soil above the water. There is also a drain if you need to use it.

A: Hello, You can water it using either by hand or a hose. If needed the bottom reservoir can be used as the self-watering mechanism. It works very well. The floatation device will indicate when the reservoir is full. If too much water is given (rain, over watering) the drain plug can be opened.
