Q:CAN THE WINDOWS USE A TOP HINGE TO SWING OUT AT BOTTOM.
by|Aug 30, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The windows cannot use a top hinge to swing out at the bottom; however, we do have our SecurePro window that is designed to operate in that fashion. You can visit your local Home Depot store to see it on display and an associate can provide more details.

Q:Is it necessary to get a custom window that will replace a wooden storm window for 34 x 54 inch opening or can an existing size be adapted?
    by|Jun 5, 2021
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  This particular unit measures tip to tip 36" x 55". There is a nailing flange that goes around the window that can be trimmed. Each side of the window allows for 1/2" to be trimmed off. The top of the window allows for 1/8" to be trimmed off and 3/4" off the bottom. If these dimensions do not work for the opening you are placing the window into, you will need to have your local Home Depot order you a special size.

Q:The instructions say use included screws. I did not find any screws. Any particular type you recommend?

                    Answer This Question

A:  The package should have included screws. I would ask the local store to provide you with replacements that no doubt would be either aluminum or stainless steel in composition, they do not have to be particularly long, assessing the substrate would be wise. There are many holes for screws so cumulatively they created adequate holding power.

A:  I apologize that the installation screws were missing. You will need #6-18 x 5/8" phillip screws.
