Q:So I have an external 1.5hp 3450 rpm pump (1988) now..it sits next to my big pond and basically draws water into it and returns water to a water display that shoots water into the air about 10-15 feet. Would this pump be used as external or submerged and could it shoot water that high?

A: This pump will not be suitable for application. I would suggest a self priming with 20+ feet of head.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, mine runs 24/7/365. In my area, the temperatures during the winter, frequently drop below zero and at times stay below freezing for 7 straight days. My waterfall ices over as does my pond but the water continues to flow inside a cone of ice into the pond to keep oxygen in the water for the Koi.

A: The number of watts is equal to amps multiplied by volts. This product is rated at 2.9 amps, multiplied by 115 volts. Therefore this product is rated at 333.5 watts.

A: The pump does go in the water. If it is not submerged it will burn out the motor in short time. I think this is the best pump available for the money.
