Q:Does this have an R-value? Can this be set over braced metal 16" on center framing with weather shield house wrap and NO WOOD sheathing and meet Florida Building Codes?

A:  No they do not have a R value. Florida building codes are very strict. Please refer to our FBC guidelines on our website, we have passed the codes but require a special installation.

      Q:I have a garage door that I would like to take the ugly old panels off of and refit with this. Seems silly to buy a whole new door just for a facelift. How heavy is each piece of siding for the 16' length. Trying to determine if my garage door opener can handle it Thanks!

              A:  Yes you can install it on a ceiling. The only difference is that you need to install it on 12" joists instead of 16" joists.

                    Q:I would like to build a fence by using these boards. Could I use them in such an application? Would it be sufficient to set posts 8' apart? Or, should I use some smaller distance between the posts?

                    A:  Hello David. It's possible, but we don't recommend it. Please do at your own risk. Just keep in mind that you will want to use the US44 End Fascia on the bottom surface of such an installation as a type of track (see http://www.newtechwood.com/siding.html#fascia). Additionally, you would want to use horizontal furring strips / joists. For breathability, you would also need breaks in the furring strips, of about 2’’ in length, every 16’’.
