A: no use an auger designed for toilets
by|May 3, 2021
A: It may work but the diameter of the auger line may be too large to negotiate the tight bends of the toilet drain.

Answer This Question
A: You have to release hand grip and push in cable by hand

A: Turning drum clockwise advances the cable. Counter-clockwise re-tracts the cable. Cable can also be rapidly advanced/retracted by hand.

Q:Hello, can this be used with an AC condensation drain line? It goes under the house and comes outside. It has 90 degree 3/4 inch fittings. Is there any risk to damaging the condensation line?
Thanks

A: Not sure it will make it around the 90's in 3/4 pipe.
by|May 18, 2021
A: 90 degree 3/4 inch is to small, most likely it won't

A: I don't believe that the tip could bend to go through a 3/4 inch 90 degree elbow.

A: Compressed air would be much better. I've seen what was done by my AC installers. At least you can fill the pipe with water from the upper side and then push it with compressed air. I would not use a snake, the drain is too weak for that, it's not a regular pipe, but a much weaker thinner pipe, that can be easily damaged. Also about this particular manual snake - I've made this mistake one time, would never buy it again. Instead, I got a very good battery powered snake and I'm happy with it, helped me save tons of money at least 3 times by now.

A: I am not sure what a condensation drain line is. I only use this to clear a clogged drain in my bathtub. You can contact customer service at 1-800-466-3337.

A: I used this tool on a kitchen sink plugged up bad with grease/oil. It cleared the plug with a little work.I don't see why it won't work on a toilet. I sure would give it a shot. Much cheaper than calling a plumber.

Q:I know the cable is 25 ft. But what is the reach of this tool? In other words, how far can I spin the snake into my pipe before I lose the cable? Can I send the snake down a 2nd floor kitchen sink to the basement without losing the snake?

A: I used all 25' of the cable and as it turns out the clog was 30' away so this auger didn't work this time. BUT, the cable is anchored inside the tool so it doesn't just slide out when you get to the end. You should be fine.

A: You won't lose it as it's attached to the tool. It will reach 25 feet into the drain.

A: The spinning motion allows the snake to move through the drain. IF you stop spinning it it will generally stop moving. Since it cannot be spun once the back end is inside the pipe it will stop moving before you lose control of the cable. If you are running it down a vertical pipe with no resistance but the clog, do not run it all the way out of the spinning case so you do not lose hold of it. You should be able to safely run it out 24 feet or so.

A: The average height of a house story is 8 to 10 feet, so I believe it should reach. I ran it through my toilet to clear a clog and there was plenty still on the base, when the clog cleared.

A: We used it from the roof to the main floor kitchen sink.
by|Feb 12, 2020
A: The actual usable length is 23.5 ft. I had a blockage at 24 ft. and figured this would reach it because the label states 25 ft. but it came up short. This is VERY false and misleading. I tried to return it, but drain snakes can not be returned after removing the packaging material (shrink wrap in this case). You can not lose the cable out of the tool because the near end is flared and has an insert to keep the last "unusable" foot of cable inside the spool reel.

A: I'm not sure if the cable can come out of the drum. You'll only need to use this on tub's and sinks. Once the cable is past the trap, there's no need to keep feeding the snake into the pipe. If your plumbing is clogged farther than this tool can clear, you should call a plumber or purchase a professional tool.

A: It can go like 5ft but after that it will get all messed up in the container. Very bad product.
by|Aug 14, 2020
A: If your plumbing allows (no sharp bends)you can use the whole 25 ft. Pulling and inserting feeding cable as you go.

A: I'm not sure what the max distance is, but I used mine on a 2nd floor kitchen and it was at least 10 or 12ft into the main stack. No problems.
