Q:I'm trying to find out what size screw goes with the smallest square head bit. I need to buy some internal square head deck screws to build my deck, but there is no indication on the bit size, but it does say SQ1 on the side of this particular bit. Anyone know what screws to buy to fit the bit?

Answer This Question
A: This set's smallest bit (in the shortest length) is a size #0. You also have all sizes up to #3 in the kit. If you are fastening decking, I'd recommend you use the longer bits in the kit. Typically the specialty fasteners also have bits in them. But this set will have you covered with pretty much any size you end up selecting for your project. The SQ1 designation you mentioned is the size, which is a square #1.

A: This is a driver kit the surface doesn't matter it depends on the screws which should tell you on the box but i would not recommend that you use these on masonry

A: I do admit its a little trickier than it should be, with the box oriented clear side up an the green tab
with the arrows to the right, using your right thumb, push the top of the green tab to the right to un latch the clear cover, then try to catch the upper right corner of the clear plastic cover with a fingernail from your left hand... The cover really should have a tap to pull up on!

A: No problems opening this plastic case very easy to use and nice selection of bits.

A: I used scissors

A: The locking mechanism is a bit counter-intuitive. It feels like it should be on a hinge and "flip down," but it's just a release lever. Just pull/bend the lock to the right with your right thumb and lift the clear lid to the left with your left thumb.

A: Hi Claire, The latch on the side lifts make sure there is not a wire tie left on where the latch is. Hope this helps. Greg

A: Don’t know what a Dock Holder is but I did use various extensions. The shortest extension was about 2 inches in total length the longest extension was 12 inches to reach screws in the very back of the shelving. Shelving was both wood and metal. The screws were buried in the wood and very hard to back out. The screws were rusted in place and took a lot of pressure to remove.
The bits worked well. No wear and tear.
by|Feb 10, 2020
A: No idea what a Dockit holder is? It comes in its own case.... I just googled what a Dockit holder is, and I would say it is highly likely it will fit, but check with Ryobi as they make both.

A: Hey Ash, yes, you can. Practically all of our bits are compatible with standard drills. However, if you were to use an impact driver, you would need to make sure the bit has a hex shank. Thanks!
