A:  Opax, this is McKenzie from Simpson Strongtie. We do have a reduction chart using .131x1 1/2 to the carrying member with a reduction of .71 of the loads. You also would have to use a minimum of 2 1/2" for the joist, which would be .131 X 2 1/2 width a reduction of .83 of load. Thanks.

A:  The best fastener is a #9 Simpson Strong-Tie Screw. We use two sizes, 1 1/2 if the screw is going into a 2x6 only. 2 1/2 if it is going into two a plate/header (two boards together) or other thick beam. Links can not be inserted in the Home Depot Q&A

A:  Port, this is McKenzie from Simpson Strongtie. The LUS28Z is made of Z MAX, could be good for some pressure treated wood, but depending on what type it may not be. Below I have our corrosion guidelines. Please get with your designer to determine if Z max is adequate enough for your application. The LUS26Z can be installed with .148" x 3" nails (10d common) into the header (4 total) and the carried joist (4 total) or with our SD Connector Screws, the #9 1 1/2" into the header (4 each of SD9112) and our #9 2 1/2" into the carried joist (4 each of SD9212). A:  Mrtommm, this is McKenzie from Simpson Strongtie. The LUS26 is for a nominal 2x6 joist hanger which measures at 1" 9/16. So this won't work for the 1" 7/8. Thanks,

A:  Hello KenAnd, LUS Light-Capacity U-Shaped Hanger with Double-Shear Nailing can be used with LVL headers and do use the full .148" x 3" long nails for the full loading.
