A: The front is 2",it has a lip so it will cover it

A: The overall height of the molding on the front is 1 7/8". With the 5/8" thickness of the tread this leaves 1.25" which is what this tread will "cover". The underside of the tread from back to inside of the molding is 10.5" and the front to back dimension on the top is 11.5".

Q:I would like to use standard riser material but I would have to use 1/2 in material in order to fill the gap. The half inch material would be too wide to match the the overhang on the front of the tread.

A: The nose is 2" high from top to bottom, but hangs down only 1.375" over the existing tread. I think you'll be able to see part of your old tread at the bottom of the nose.
