A: I'm a sixty year old woman and handled the weight with no problem. But you may want assistance putting on the shelf just because of leveling it.

A: The website says ALL stainless, and that is why I purchased it. Even the levelers are steel. It is not chrome plated as some other brands advertise, but it is oiled when it comes, like the stainless steel cleaner you will use to keep it looking great; so just wipe it down after you set it up.

A: The magnetic test holds true for high purity SS like 316. I have gotten hardware that is 304 that has a mild magnetism to it. And I can tell you from experience that 18-8 is magnetic but is still very good against most chemicals.

A: A high-strength neodymium magnet has almost no attraction indicating 316 grade (as in high-quality stainless steel). Potential purchasers should note that all stainless steels can rust if cleaned with something inappropriate (like a Brillo pad) or if some aggressive chemicals are left in contact. Scratches are normal on stainless steel - a green Scotchbrite pad can help polish some out but in reality may just make it worse. This is a great value table but the top is a bit light gauge for heavy duty use

A: I think it's real stainless steel. We love it except that it scratches easily with sharp objects like knives or scooting a metal fruit bowl across it.
