I bought this last Spring and it was a good purchase !

Holes in frame not properly punched out had to be drilled pipes not bent properly not meeting together properly all around very poor design Cable would not open and close properly had to drill new holes so it would work at least half away right

I purchased this spreader after years of using a cheap "push" spreader. In retrospect I should have just spent the money for another "push" spreader but with pneumatic tires. I have made my third application of fertilizer with this product and have to repeatedly empty it out to clean the build-up of fertilizer off of the gate area so that fertilizer will flow. The first time I used it, it was a very humid day so I accepted the problem. The second and third times the humidity was 30-40% yet the build-up occurred numerous times. The poor design of the "agitator" seems to contribute to the build-up and needs to be changed. While overseeding the yard I noticed that the plastic "tub" that holds the fertilizer(or seed) is cracked where it is bolted to the supporting frame. I would recommend that you spend the money for a good push spreader with pneumatic tires and save your self some grief. Oh, by the way, did I mention that I have sold commercial fertilizer application equipment for over thirty five years? I purchased an Agri-fab pull type core aerator about ten years ago and am happy with that product.

The part that I received was exactly what I needed as the original one had broken.

I have had this spreader for a few years now and it works perfectly , only thing I would suggest is to have the lever come up to the driver so he doesn't have to reach way back almost out of the seat to start and stop spreading . I always clean mine after every job and spray WD40 on the moving parts to keep them running free and easy

its a good unit the only problem is the wheel gear turns hard causing the wheels to skid when the hopper is empty

I bought one of these 10 years ago and it finally wore out. I bought a new one last week and assembled it and it works perfectly. There were a couple of missing cotter pins but the instructions worked well. The instructions are a little vague about placing the clip on the distribution handle and calibrating it to 0 delivery but with any sense you can figure that out. Over time if you don't lubricate wash off the fertilizer and store in a dry place it will hang up and rust and not work properly. Good product at a reasonable price.

Purchased yesterday and assembled today. The only thing on the assembly, was that the sticker (1-10 on-Off) was installed the wrong way with the OFF-ON in the wrong directions. When I pealed it off to turn it around it tore. So much for Quality control.

Purchased this spreader today. Started assembling it got to the section to attach the lever and there was no part "H". I would like to think I could get home put it together and get done what I planned but that didn't happen. I don't see anywhere on the site on how to get missing parts.

Have only used a couple times to spread lime on my yard. Filled with lime and half ran out on the ground due to the plastic being worn where the spinner shaft extends through hopper. Poor design and no way to fix. Shaft wore out the plastic after a couple uses. Thought I was buying a decent spreader, obviously was cheaply made.

Looks like a good piece of equipment. I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Hey Guys!. . . Sorry to say I'm not too impressed with the spreader for the following reasons: 1) Assembly Quality Assurance. Where the spreader bin has two rivets holding an assembly for the On/Off handle, one of the rivets was not even through the predrilled holes. I had to cut the rivet off and install a 1/4 screw with washer and lock-nut. 2) The entire bottom part of the plastic that is "plastic welded" to the bin is loose and moves about 1/16-1/8". When the cotter pin that stirs the fertilizer spins, it hits one of the protruding plastic pieces. 3) The directions, though multi-lingual, are ambiguous. I originally installed the On/Off handle assembly on the other side until I realized that the connecting rod back to the bin, had to be facing UP. Okay, enough whining. . . I'll be back IF I see anything during use :-0. . . OBTW, I came to the website but I don't see (obvious) directions on how to register my new 45-0215 100lbs spreader.

The product is just what I thought and will certainly do the jobs I have for it . On the other hand the delivery was not as good parts were scattered and the axle has a small bend in it that I am trying to straighten APL

purchased this item today and although a few times to put together and un do and refix as the instructions show. I find this to be a great spreader.

Not the easiest piece of lawn equipment that I have assembled, but good quality materials. The instructions could improve on the opening adjuster on the pull tongue. My only reason for not rating this a 5, is the shutoff handle is too short.

I have only had the opportunity to use this once, but it worked great and without problems. The assembly directions were simple and easy to follow. The only problem was the size of the hopper. I purchased the 100 LB model for the price and availability. The hopper will not hold 100lbs of fertilizer, but if you dont mind stopping to refill or if you have a small yard it will work just fine.

This is a good utility spreader for that two to three times a year usage (not commercial). I use the unit to fertilize 1.5 acres of lawn. The unit was easy to put together (comes in pieces). Two things I would like to see are a modified handle to open the shoot door, hard to operate when on the tractor because it is directly behind rider and a back side shoot cover to keep the product from hitting the back side of the tractor. Other than those suggestions the spreader worked well and is a good value.

Make sure when you purchase the unit that you keep the gearing well lubed with a good gear grease or the gearing drive wheel will lock up.

I've been using this 100 # Spreader for several years with no problems at all.

This is replacing a Republic EZ broadcast spreader that I modified for towing use. It lasted 10 years. Parts are no longer available for the EZ. So to the trash that went....As a replacement I bought a Scott's Edge Guard Spreader and modified it as a tow unit...lasted one voyage...when I bought it I overlooked the plastic gearbox. That unit's gearbox completed striped out after just one use. Scotts refunded the cost of their unit. So I researched what spreaders have ALL STEEL GEAR BOXES. This is the one feature that makes it or breaks it for me. Also, the availability of replacement parts. As well as, cost of those parts. This Agri-Fab unit is an old school proven design with steel/aluminum gears. The high wear parts are easy to replace and are reasonably priced. Although lots of companies have parts available...many charge way too much for the replacement parts...that kills the deal for me...John Deere come to mind. There's a place for plastic-only in the kitchen. Not in lawn equipment or anything else mechanical!!!!!!!!

Great product. Made seeding over an acre an easy task!

Product work well. Had to guesstimate the required aperture as the calibration is not accurate. Not hard to assemble but as with a lot of products the instructions would be deplorable for those with no mechanical aptitude. Seeded an acre with no hiccups.

I can only advise what my father told me since the purchase was for him, he said it worked great, took a couple of tries to put together, no complaints

Assembly was generally easy if you take your time and follow the pictures. Only a couple of times I did not realize the difference in washers and assembled wrong - having to backup and redo. Probably the only weak spot in the product is the feed control - will not calibrate the way the instructions say, but will work just the same. Second load, somehow the feed lever moved without me noticing and the whole load was dispensed at wide open setting.- not sure whether it was a product problem or operator error.

Very good for the price, wish it came with a cover. Very easy to put together. My old one of the same make, lasted 8 years.

Great broadcast spreader for the money. Not too difficult to put together. Nice size for a couple of acres. I would recommend this spreader for anyone.

Took forty minutes to install. Problem was maintaining proper adjustment of shoot as recommended by fertilizer company. I had to pull on the bar to manually open and sometime close it. Also, the shoot would not close properly due to the fertilizer getting trapped under the shoot lid. For the money, I expected better. I will be taking it back.

It is very inconvenieint to cloase the hopper. You have to get out of the mower to close it. Also the hopper gets stuck sometimes so nothinig get out when you push it to open.

Used twice on 1 acre lawn. Very please with the distribution of product and the ease of operation. Relatively easy assembly. Would recommend to others

We ordered this spreader online, and it was a breeze to assemble, and use. Home Depot had the best price of several stores shopped, and the spreader really is easy to use with all weed & feed fertilizers we have selected.
