Seems to be working great. Definitely buy this one rather than the stupid flop valve version unless you have a big sump that is completely protected from debris. I fabricated a 3" ABS shroud to protect the sensor float, then bagged the entire thing in landscape fabric, then buried the assembly in gravel. Now leaves and branches can pile up on top of the thing and it still works. I'm very happy with this solution.

This is a great buy
1/2 HP SUBMERSIBLE SUMP PUMP WITH DIRECT-IN VERTICAL FLOAT SWITCH
This is a great buy I am very happy with my sump pump. We had to drain our pool and it worked great for the job at hand. It is a very quiet And powerful sump pump. My neighbor had to borrow it to drain his pond after using it went right out to buy his own. This is definitely a great buy
My basement is usually dry, but several years ago, I received 2-inches of water that cost me thousands of dollars in repairs to my then, newly finished basement. The kick in the pants is that all of the headache the flood caused could have been avoided if only I’d had a sump pump installed. My home was built with a perimeter drain that empties into a single 30-gal sump basin installed in one corner of the basement. Unknown to me however, there was no sump pump in the basin. With all the water around the foundation being directed into a single basin, the sump basin fills very quickly, so a large, fast and powerful pump with a high flow rate is needed to evacuate the water before it has a chance to overflow the basin and cause damage to my heating system, furniture, flooring and other items in my finished basement. In my case, the pump needs to push the collected water upwards approx. 10-feet over the cement foundation wall and out the side of the house, where an underground PVC outlet pipe carries it another 25-feet to the side yard where it safely discharges. Since the pump is rated to push collected water up to a height of 10-feet, it has no problem moving the water the height and distance I need it to go, but to say this pump is rated for 4600 GPH is a bit deceiving because that rate assumes 0 vertical height. Even so, at 4600 GPH, this pumps discharge is comparable to many ¾ HP units. The pump has a heavy cast iron body and impeller, with a plastic float. There is no battery backup on this unit. The vertical float automatically trips a switch when the water level in the sump tank reaches several inches, and activates the pump. The vertical float switch on this pump is more reliable than pumps with an internal diaphragm or tethered switch, and requires as little as 10-inches in diameter of space in which to operate. The operation of this pump is whisper quiet. An adapter is included to provide for a discharge connection to a 1-1/2-in. NPT or 1-1/4-in. NPT drain pipe. The larger pipe is recommended because it’ll allow for more rapid displacement of a higher volume of water without clogging. I’d also recommend installing an in-line check valve (available at The Home Depot – Model #SPC150) to relieve back pressure and prevent water from coming back into the basin. A garden hose is too narrow and won’t work with this sump pump. This pump is comparable in price to other similarly-sized pumps, but the quality and performance of this one is very good, and it has a better warranty than most.
The AquaPro submersible sump pump is a heavy duty pump that is well made. The 1/2 horse sump pump comes with 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 adapter discharge. This pump is a heavy duty cat iron construction with a vertical switch for automatic operation. This is the heaviest sump pump that I have ever owned. It comes with a 5 year warranty. This 1/2 horse pump is designed to pump 4600 gallons / hour.
