A great upgrade for extension springs. Easy and safe to install and wind unlike traditional torsion springs. One small complaint that many have mentioned before are the set screws that connect the two jack shaft pieces. They are extremely difficult to self tap even after i pre-drilled the correct size hole. Luckily the garage door kit had a similar screw that was better designed for metal to metal fastening.

Easy install and works great.

Easy to install works well much smoother than the the old extension springs I replaced This with. The only issue is Clopay does not supply you with the center support bracket for the drive pole unless you have the larger doors. There was a lot of deflection in the pole I called Clopay and they sent

the poles didn't screw together with the hardware provided. I ended up drilling and tapping the holes. I also added a support in the middle as the poles flexed a bit too much with out it.

This was a perfect replacement for the Wayne Daltin spring (which snapped). It is easy to install if you have reasonable mechanical aptitude. You'll have to get some stronger center tube set screws as the kit ones are too soft.

Yes highly recommend this setup very easy and safe to wind up.

Perfect for my application

This product worked perfectly once I got it installed. The directions could have been written better but once I discovered a couple of tricks I got it installed OK. It took longer than I expected to install but the bottom line is it works very well. I would highly recommend it if you need a replacement.

This is a great kit and very easy to install. My door was a 9 X 7 steel insulated weighing 140 lbs. I would rate this 5 stars except for the 5/8" X 14 machine screws. I read several reviews that stated these screws were absolute trash. I totally agree with those assessments. Do not even attempt to use these screws. I tried and both screws stripped with little effort and no penetration into the drilled hole in the torsion bar. I went to the local hardware store and picked up 3/4" X 14 with lock washers as none of the hardware stores around me had 5/8". I am a bit flabbergasted and frustrated that Clopay has not rectified this problem and provided better machine screws! I have replaced torsion springs on my larger two door two spring main garage door and tensioning the springs using winding bars is a scary situation. The Clopay EZ-Set makes tensioning the torsion springs a piece of cake. The door operates extremely well and is very quiet versus my previous extension springs.

Very easy install. Took less than a hour and a half.

Quality of this unit is fair... one of the die cast cable spools I received was a short shot with only a portion of the hub filled. The installation instructions are just about useless, with errors. The self tapping screws to tie the torsion tube together were worthless. I drilled and tapped the tube for a 1/4-20 instead. At the end of the day though, the door has never operated this smoothly or quietly. Hope its a long time before I have to do this again.

Read the instructions thoroughly! The installation is straightforward and easy to follow if you pay attention. I will be buying another one for my other door soon. Much safer and performs smoother than the old extension spring system.

Works great, the only problem was with the screws to connect the torsion bar. Ended up buying bolts to use!!

The system is overall very nice and it eliminates much of the danger associated with installing traditional torsion springs. The only flaw in the system is (for my system) connecting the two tubes together with the self tapping screws. The screws were low quality and needed to be replaced.

Great price, easy to install. The things I didn't like were minor. The two screws that drill into the center section holding the two halfs were cheap screws and would not screew in. Since i bought two of these door springs this ment i had to deal with this issue four times. They need better self tapping machine screws for this. Second was that the tubes had to be cut. Like I said two minor issues. I do recommend these springs for your doors.
