For the price, this bookcase has done well for us. In fact, we have purchased 4 of them. The only thing we added to them were braces, so they won’t tip over. Otherwise they are sturdy. The back is made from some sort of cardboard.

The assembled bookcase looks good. The instructions were reasonably good, but I would have benefited from more explicit info about installing the fixed shelves and the back. The back comes folded into 4 panels held together by tape and should be installed with the panels pushed tightly together. Mine has small gaps which I couldn’t see when screwing the back in place.

We're very pleased with this new bookcase. It was very time consuming to put together, but it's exactly what we needed to hold bolts of fabrics needed for quilting projects. We're hoping to purchase one more when they become available again.

Not easy to assemble

This unit had a lot of scratches that looked like a 5 year old painted over it with a marker. its not just the one i ordered 4 of the 84'' and 4 of the smaller one that were 36'' and ALL of them had the same problems. it took me all day to sand stain and fix. so if you have time to fix them there not bad the wood they make them out of is good.

Beautiful and well made product. My husband was able to build the bookcase in a couple hours by himself and turned out great

These are good bookcases. True to size, which was important to me because I had very tight spaces for the two I ordered. Packaging was damaged but because the bookcase parts were well packed, there was no damage to them. Oak veneer over pressboard so they are heavy. Have the look of nice wood though. A few milling mars on the wood here and there but very minor and not really noticeable. Assembly looked complicated at first but if you follow the clear step-by-step instructions, it will work out. After a couple of them though, here are some tips (which may not make sense now but will if you are assembling them).. For some reason the holes for the metal fasteners on the trim molding are not large enough. The metal fasteners go in but not fully seated. You have to persist and screw them down very hard until they seat or you will have gaps when you attach the trim. A power driver is not recommended as the screws will strip (break at the head actually). Also, before you put the backing on (the last step) mark all of your cross pieces with blue tape on the sides, top and bottom of the bookshelf where you can see the blue tape once the backing is laid down. This is because you will screw the backing to the cross pieces without being able to see if you are lining up down the center. You can't trust the preinstalled tape on the backing to be exactly lined up. If you are a little off, the screw can come through to the finished side. I marked the cross pieces with tape on each outside edge and once the back was laid down and screwed at the edges, ran a straight edge along the center of the cross pieces to align the screws. That was much better than the hit or miss approach. In the end, I'm very happy with my beautiful new bookcases. They are not flimsy and look and feel like solid wood.

Very nice quality bookshelf.

This is a nice bookshelf. The only issue that I had was with the back of the unit. I had to trim 3/8" all the way down the back in order to make it fit. It is a very sturdy unit that went together well, aside from that.

Had to wait 2 months for delivery due to pandemic but well worth the wait! Bookcase was easy to assemble and is excellent quality. Will buy another when needed!

The back panel is super cheap and flimsy. It does take some time to assemble - build up your patience and frustration tolerance! But for the price, it is a nice piece of furniture.

Easy assembly, quality materials.

The bookcase looks great, seems sturdy, and was relatively easy to assemble. I've had it for about four or five months now and it seems to be holding up just fine, I also really like the color. My only complaint regarding the the assembly process is that the backboard doesn't have any markers (tiny indents, holes, or markings) that make nailing/screwing it into place easier, you're kind of just going by feel and cannot really gauge the results until assembly is complete.

Good and sturdy, nice looking. Pretty heavy so if you’re small in stature you may need a helper.

Shelf looks good and it’s sturdy. I have it loaded up and it’s fine. Assembly is not too difficult either. Back panel is lame, but can be made to work easily. Definitely would buy this again.
