Works well in drywall without pull-out issues. No need to predrill hole, you can screw the anchor into the drywall using a cordless with a #3 Phillips head bit (with a little practice), and should the time come to remove it, you can back it out with a cordless or just drive it or pound it slightly beneath the drywall surface and patch with drywall compound or putty. Have used these (or the same product by other manufacturers) in different sizes for years.

Most exterior walls in the area are constructed with furring strips and 1/2” drywall. You have to MacGyver them to make them work. Screw in until it bottoms out at the concrete block, then back it out and cut off 3/4” and screw it back in till it seats. Only other option is Tapcons.

I don't know why any other anchor exists
I have had nothing but success with these anchors. Self drilling and they work, the first time, no monkey business. Every other anchor is absolute garbage compared to these.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not match your expectations. For best results we recommend follow this three step process: 1)Using #2 Phillips screwdriver press anchor tip slightly into drywall. Applying pressure, turn anchor until flush with drywall and arrows on head of anchor point up and down. Do not overtighten. 2) Push screw through item to be hung and halfway into anchor to engage toggle bar. Item thickness 3/4" or less with screw provided. 3)Tighten screw flush and continue turning. Screw stops when toggle bar secures against wall. Here is also a video to show the process for best results: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYN4VeeM0JI

I was hesitant to buy plastic anchors that drill in the wall, but they easily drill in. Great product
