3 out of 8 installed at the same time failed 1-3 weeks apart after 5 months in use (50 psi potable water - no hammer); Completely came apart at the threads, The rest was removed and checked, 2 more about to fail. Expensive fittings, nothing compared to the water damage.

easy fit, kind of duller brass pipe fitting, but gets the job done on art projects.

Just what I needed

Seems silly to give a brass pipe a review :) Works like a pipe, threads like a pipe... used it to build a DIY spigot that's hidden in bushes for front porch.

Perfect for my rain shower

It's a strong metal and works perfectly for any plumbing job where you need a 6 inch long and 1/2. Inch thick.

It served me very well as I was changing waterheater valve. Good fitting and sturdy material.

Used to add a water pressure gauge to a well pump. Needed it offset from the main line so I could see/ monitor the readings. The threads on the two (2) ends of the pipe nipple have a different number of turns (!?!). So, the male end with more turns leaked a little. Did not want to crank down more on the female connection so more Teflon tape improved the situation; leak is tolerable but not completely fixed.. Will have to go back to Home Depot for another one on my next trip there. Will pay more attention to this possible defect when purchasing.

Full filled the requirement of the job

I purchased 2 of these brass nipples, and one of them leaked through the threads. After inspecting I found 2 gouges inside of the nipple which was deep enough to cut through the threads. Home Depot made things right by swapping it out for a new one, but it still cost time and labor.

Natural gas is normally run through an iron pipe, but when plumbing an outdoor grill, iron rusts (even if painted). So where it is visible, switch to this brass pipe, and the installation will look great for many years.

The close makes a difference! I used this one to connect a whole-house water treatment system, and the extra little bit of saved width to the overall system does make a difference for servicing our filters—the left-most filter would have been more difficult to remove if I had to move the whole system towards the water heater. I used thread tape on both sides, and tightened it up as a whole system using the street elbow. It has been over a month and I don’t have any issues. Lead free is a must for our water supply.

Everytime I turn my water on brown water comes out first and I thought Brass didn't rust. This is the second one I bought and I'm taking it back also.

Way overpriced. Purchased at another store for less than half the price. Returned.
