Product description says that it's paintable, but I tried with my siding paint and it just peeled right off. There's nothing in the instructions about what kind of paint to use etc. Some folks in the questions section said to use a PVC primer first, but even then it may still peel off. The tailpipe they included isn't crimped, so you have to do that yourself to get it to fit inside the cover. If you don't have the right tool for that, then you have to try to do it with a pair of pliers.

I ordered a new washer and dryer with a new semi-rigid dryer duct from Home Depot. While I waited on delivery and installation, I looked at my old aluminum vent hood and it was in bad shape. The internal louver was unhinged and loose inside the vent and there was evidence of critters travelling through the duct work. The day before Home Depot was scheduled to deliver and install the dryer, I checked on the available vent hoods and chose the Everbilt 4 inch hinged louvered vent hood at my local Home Depot. I like that you can see the louvers from the outside if they fail and the cover is hinged for easy cleaning. Removing the old vent hood and installing the new one was about 20 minutes. The screw holes didn’t match the old one, so I drilled new holes in the brick with a hammer drill and reused the old Tapcon concrete anchor screws. The only thing that slowed me down was the folding the aluminum pipe. The grooves on each long side just didn’t look like they would go together, but they do. Years ago, I spent about an hour drilling less than an inch in concrete and burning up several masonry drill bits using my regular drill. I borrowed a friends hammer drill and drilled the 4 - 3-inch-deep holes I needed in about 10 seconds each. Right after that, I bought a hammer drill!

The way they formed the sheet metal, it will not fit into the vent recess per design. They need to enlarge the I.D. Of the mold used to form the vent, or provide a tube that fits.

Fortunately for me this has same hole pattern as #BPMH4BLKHD6. 'easy' to install & offers nice way to clean. Many people complain aluminum pipe doesn't fit. Easy way is to insert 3/4 of pipe then dent the tube at/near forth slot then it'll go in. Then simply reach in and 'undent' the tube. Most important is that the plastic standoffs are in all 4 slots. The latch isnt as secure as I'd like but I expect cap will stay latched. I added easy to remove pest screen (will monitor for lint clogs).

Very easy to install. Added a back flow insert as well and there is no air coming back into the house.

Works as described. Had to do a little trimming, installed in a mobile home (everything is smaller).

Sent wrong item. Item received was not only the wrong item but less expensive than what I ordered. Return to store for refund which was a nightmare due to warehouse that sent item insisted it was the correct item. Finally had to enlist store manager to ok refund of item actually ordered on-line.

Easy to assemble and install. Had to provide screws which was ok due to needing longer screws anyway.

The vent is fine, but the pipe is too large for the vent. It costs twice as much to have the pipe included so it's very annoying that it doesn't fit.

Worked as advertised and super easy to install. Make sure you have a 4 1/4” hole saw or you’re going to have a tight fit.

I purchased and installed the Everbilt Louvered vent. The metal vent was easy to shape and form into a cylinder. Likewise, the cylinder with some patience is attached to the louvered vent and locked together. Then the unit is passed into the house. At that point the vent is attached to the siding with 4 screws. I give this product an A rating.

It was broken when the box was opened

Kind of chintzy, and I wish it came with screws. It did the job though.

Hinged vent allows you to clean out the exhaust vent.

No screws in box. Had to hire someone.

This was made to fit into a 4” pipe. Problem is this is also 4”, so a sheet metal size of 3 15/16” might be better. Had to use tin snips to reduce the size to fit and fit isn’t great but functional.

It works well and because it’s New it gives the Wall a nice Face Lift.

Product was easy to install.
