    Good quality, difficult install
I needed this product for the hinge side of the door where it provides a nice seal while allowing the door to close without too much resistance. Unfortunately the ridged tab that inserts into the kerf requires quite a bit of force to insert. The product is also rolled in the package and is hard to line up with the kerf. Between the force required and the difficult alignment I would call it a nightmare install... not a good design. The tab on the cheaper 1" product took 20 seconds to install from top to bottom by hand and seems just as reliable. To install the Elite I resorted to using a 3" putty knife and a hammer after many varied trials. I found you can apply the putty knife to one of the ridges on the tab from a 45 degree angle and gently tap the tab partially into the kerf. I did this from top to bottom and then used the same knife to tap it the rest of the way directly into the kerf from a 90 degree angle to the door. It helps to have a second person holding the seal for the first part of this install and take care not to tap so hard you destroy the ridges on the tab. Not ideal but it worked for me

The seven-foot length fit one side of our front door perfectly and fit into the grooved slot once the old vinyl-capped version was stripped out. The vinly had worn off the old one, exposing the foam inside. The Frost King appears to be more durable, and the door is a bit harder to close now, which means that the edge of the door compresses the seal enough for a secure fit. It looks much better than the old one, and this winter will prove whether it works as well as I expect it to.

I was lucky to find this Weatherseal to fit my door. I am by no mean handy at anything in my life but I was able to replace it without much difficulty. My last door Weatherseal was 11 years old and it was damaged by my cats clawing on it to get my attention-so it was overdue to be replace. Hopefully this will last at least 12 years. When you replace it, be sure to use a flat head screwdriver to push it into the gap around the frame of door and also remember not pre-cut it before you push it into the gap or it might be too short. It's better to push it in and then cut the remainder at the end to cover the whole door. One last thing, it took 3 of these to cover the whole door.

        84 + 84 + 36 = ...
... 3 boxes. Hey Frost King, why does this product come in 84" lengths? That's one box for each vertical side of a door. What about the width (36") along the top? What should I do with the remaining 48"? Careful now with your answer!!!

Was ultimately able to persuade it into place with a 1/4 socket extension. Has some kinks owing to being coiled up in package but should settle into place in time.
