Perfect replacement for previous opener. Smooth and quiet. Love it.

The product itself isn't bad so far. Th problem is with Genie's customer 'disservice'. The instructions, manual, and online videos are skimpy and incomplete. They are designed for garages with very high ceilings and with no previous wiring mounts or brackets. E.G. the clevis pins they provide are too big for the original door bracket so that was another trip to the depot. But worst of all is the waiting at least an hour to get someone on the phone. And when you finally do, some of them have attitude problems. Stay clear of Genie to avoid headaches and wasting a lot of your time and effort. Especially when the temperature is 90 degrees.

After havingit installed for 3 months, the belt broke.

Good but only 1 remote.

Slow and quiet but seems to have ample power. I use the outside remote all the time, or would if it bothered to work on more than an occasional basis. With years of experience it seems Genie would be able to figure out the simple stuff, but I guess not. Back to Chamberlain when this one wears out.

So far so good. It is smooth and quiet. I love the wireless keypad. I have not tried to sync it to my iPhone, but I will try it. Good value.

Very happy with the purchase - we bought 2 to replace 30+ year old units and had Home Depot install them. We've had an exterior key pad opener and knwe we'd like it on both doors but the multi-unit door openers are a benefit we never knew we needed.

BUYER BEWARE and I would give this zero stars if I could. I first bought this unit last August and had it professionally installed. This included a complete door tune-up and all new nylon-coated rollers. Very happy with how quiet the unit was compared to the 27-year old Genie screw-drive it replaced. But the joy was short-lived. Very soon afterwards it started to fail intermittently. The door would lift a foot or so and then stop, I had to reset the upper and lower close limits for it to work again properly. The rate of failure soon worsened to every 2-3 lifts. After several months of fighting this, I dug into the warranty and learned that Genie only covers replacement of parts and instructs you not to return the unit to the retailer, even though this unit was clearly defective out of the box. It took several calls and much troubleshooting on my part to help them diagnose the problem. I also had to prove the door was operating properly and, of course, the unit had to actually fail while on the phone before they would believe me. Finally, they decided it was an optical sensor and said they would send me a replacement. I asked for an outright replacement but they refused. Four days later, I received a voicemail message that they needed me to tell them what kind of motor I had so they could order the right part. This would have required me to disassemble the head unit. That was the last straw. As much as I wanted to simply replace the unit, it was actually less expensive to buy another unit and have the technician who installed it replace the head unit under a service call. Not surprisingly, he said that few installers will mess with Genie because of their reliability problems. So about $600 later between buying two units and two different service calls, I finally have a garage door opener that works. We will see how long it lasts. The moral of this is that Genie is nothing like the old brand and I had to learn the hard way. You may never have any problems like I did, but be prepared if you do. My recommendation is to avoid the possibility and buy another more reliable brand.

Excellent garage door opener. The belt drive is quiet and closes tightly without slamming. Definetely recommend.
