It is everything it was advertised to be.
All the pieces were there. Except for one piece missing a "tongue" on the edge, and a few slightly warped planks, it was best quality. I haven't found anything comparable in any local store. The wainscoting boards were not veneer, or particle board--They were Red Oak Planks 3/8" X 3" wide. I'd buy this kit again in a heart-beat.

OMG
Not only is the beadboard in-expensive, but it is real wood!! NOT some compressed wood chips. I was renov. a large bathroom and taking it to turn of the century period. Contractor thought is woul dbe too short, but turned out to be the perfect height for a bathroom. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..and with free shipping, this was definately a great investment!!

Nice product
The product was shipped to me quickly which is a big plus to me as I am impatient and want to work on my projects with no delays. The process was quite simple. You lay out all the individual pieces in the kit (it does not come in one piece) to acclimate the wood to your room temperature for three days. I then stained the long base and chair rail sections.Next I cut them to length. Then I pre drilled holes for the nails as the wood is very hard. After locating the studs with my stud finder I nailed the base down first.Next I inserted the tongue and groove pieces into each other one by one all the way across till all was fitted correctly. Then I removed them and used liquid nails to glue the wood to the wall piece by piece. Each piece fits rather well into the next. Some of the wood sections are slightly taller than the others. Also some of the wood has different shades to them. Once all was glued onto the wall, I installed the top chair rail section with nails. You may use nails in each piece of tongue and groove also if necessary. I then stained the tongue and groove sections as it was easier after they were installed. The enclosed directions were self explanatory. The wood is good quality. The project came out nice. Thanks Home Depot!

Nice Stuff
Please note this product DOES NOT ship in 8 foot sheets. Wainscot pieces should be hit with a palm sander to knock any burrs off. Base Molding and Chair Rail have tracks milled into them to make install easy. These channels also allow you to cheat the pieces up and down if the floor is not perfectly level. The red oak has a really nice grain to it once stained and clear coated. Overall quality of the millwork is good. Only a few pieces of wainscot that had tongues damaged or gougues that were too deep to sand out.

Great Product
We are very pleased with this product. It looks great on the wall. We put a clear coat of poly on it and it brought out the grain. The contractor who put it up even raved about how great it looked. The color was perfect. Just be aware that it comes in pieces and not in a whole section.

Read Carefully
It's our fault for not reading the description more carefully, but we purchased 9 kits for a basement remodel thinking it was stained, poly'ed, and coming in 8' sections. At least for the money paid, you would think it would be more user friendly. But it came in hundreds of pieces, unfinished, and in big long boxes. We were very disappointed. We ended up returning the item, purchased bigger wainscot sheets and long strips of chair rail and baseboard for about half the price. If I'm going to stain a bunch of pieces and poly them myself, I'd rather they be in big pieces to eliminate frequent handling.

    Tongue & Groove Wainescot
The wainescoting is very nicely made. You can either stain or paint it. I chose to stain it. Take your time whether you decide to stain or paint. I would suggest a light sanding of each piece first - this eliminates any rough edges. If you stain be sure to put at least 2 coats of polyarylic or polyurithan on top with a light sanding inbetween each coat. Place the finished pieces inside the house so the wood has time to adjusted to the temperature inside - since wood does expand and contract. I placed this in my laundry/mud room so I used the polyarylic because of the varying humidity in the room. It goes together nicely and made the room look great. When choosing the color stain keep in mind that the wood pieces will very in darkness & lightness due to the character of each piece. I would highlly recommend this product . Keep in mind that you will need to devote some time to the staining or painting before it is ready to be put up. A few pieces had some flaws but we used them for cutting and going around outlets and pipes.

        Oak Wainscoting
This is our second time to purchase this product. We were satisfied with it however the milling of some of the boards could have been better but for the most part it was a quality product.

            Worth it
I was surprised by my own lack of knowing what the panel was when I recieved it. I thought the panels came assembled in 8 ft sections. But I got started straight and the bead board went up fine. Wood quality was very good and I would recommend it.

We love the oak tongue and grove wainscot. We put it up in our game room and stained it black. We used the back side of the wainscot to make it look like seperated planks on the wall. We really like the way it turned out. Even though it was pricy, buying in a kit like this is the way to go. We were very pleased on the quality of the product. We would definitely recommend this to people.
