From the pics it looks like plastic that would melt. Wow was I surprised! Yes it's a form of plastic but it DOESN'T melt! I rest my iron inside resting on the edge and it DOES NOT melt it. Never seen a type of plastic like this before!!! Therefore, I like it and it works and without melting. Amazing.

When first quality counts
Should have gotten one years ago. Ideal for keeping the tip of your iron clean and ready to go. Super easy to keep in my box of soldering tools. No big prep needed, just use it.

This items does what it is supposed to do! It cleans the soldering iron tip. I was disappointed...
This items does what it is supposed to do! It cleans the soldering iron tip. I was disappointed that it is very light weight and you have to hold it with one hand while using the other to plunge the soldering iron into it. I supposed a person could use double sided tape to secure it to a suitable place.

This product is very good in keeping the tip of my soldering iron clean and is especially easy to use. It is fast and doesn't cool the tip down like a wet sponge does. I am very pleased with your service and this product.

I have had very limit experience with this type of soldering iron tip cleaner so I am not an expert on the subject.
In the past I have used the cleaning sponge that came with my soldering station(s).
Only time will tell if this will be just another " gadget " that falls by the wayside.
So far it seems to work if you use it correctly.

Very cheap feeling. Light weight. I had the bottom fall off and make a HUGE MESS. I ended up putting some magnets on the bottom to keep it from moving when cleaning my solder tips and Putting some hot glue to secure the bottom to the top so no more mess.

Hello, I have attached the product link for your reference. The bottom of our tip cleaner is supposed to come off in order to dump our the solder that has been cleaned off the tip.
