Came well packaged. Looks good. Overall enjoyable. EXCEPT, the canopy only lasts 2-3 years before it starts tearing. When releasing upper latches, you have to pull it slightly crooked and it puts too much stress on the ever-weakening edging. I can put my finger right through the edge fabric, it's so weak now. Who makes a sunshade that can't handle sun? They USED to offer replacements for sale, but not anymore. The aftermarket is bad too, no mesh shade.

The type they do have feels more like camping equipment and will make you feel like you are in a sauna under the pergola. It traps rainwater which is a complete disaster as it has no way to filter out causing huge pockets of collected water on top of the pergola...essentially with the weight of a good downpour of rain, sitting on top of the canopy can damage the frame. Why would Home Depot sell a product but you cannot order a replacement canopy of the same type?

PART 1: Purchased this lovely pergola over 2 years ago to add functionality to our backyard patio. The pergola wasn't extremely difficult to install and took my husband and I a few hours (if I recall correctly). It provides a nice shade from the sun while allowing good air circulation while under there. The issue we have is the COVER!!! There is no replacement AT ALL!! I contacted Home Depot, BILT, Hampton Bay, even as far as the canopy manufacturer Garden Winds...no identical canopy replacement

3.5 hours by myself, so far so good, kids likes it, wife loves it

I love the pergola itself. Just two of the posts had cracks in them. I know stuff happens. It’s just tough to drill into a post that has a crack in it without damaging more

After having my patio pergola installed the worker called my attention to two tears and a stain was in the overhead canopy so I called when I got disconnected thru the online chat service I spoke with Jason and he took care of the matter right away without hassle

Easy to assemble, good instructions and plenty of hardware.

the packaging was great and had no damage. The instructions are good,, but online instructions are alot better and easier to follow.

Posts are very soft, damage easily not hard cedar wood as described. Went up easily, need two strong people. Easy instructions and construction. Would benefit from some sort of stop half way up canopy to reduce it moving in the wind. All in all a nice and well made piece.

Took awhile to assemble however it is very sturdy and once you anchor it, it’s not going anywhere

Very easy to assemble, but it lacks of better finishing on upper and lower post caps. Bottom caps do not cover hardware. overall nice product for the price,

Posts are soft and will split at the screw/bolt connection points. Easy to assemble. Can assemble most parts by one person. Final step of placing and connecting posts will require atleast two people.

I have this product and after a year the canopy needs to be replaced. Is there a replacement for this ?

I called Home Depot and they did a 3 way call with Hampton Bay because one week after being up it has rusted my patio. I sent pictures in a text as directed and then tried to call and sent an email and I haven’t heard back. I am upset that I wasted my money on getting a permit, installing it and having it ruin my patio. It’s cheap and if it wasn’t installed and I didn’t put 16 holes in my concrete I would have returned it.

Easy to assemble, works great as cover for hot tub

The canopy is not covering the uv rays enough

It says two men can assemble in a few hours. I did it alone in two afternoons (not recommended). It really is an eye catcher and functions nicely. I would, though, like to have an optional 'waterproof' cover for those wetter days. All in all, this is well worth the money.

We love it! It is EXACTLY what we were looking for.
