I’m a single woman homeowner. Saw this possum on my ring cam. Tried to scent it away with ammonia & all the OTC scent stuff - didn’t work. Bought this trap- Home Depot didn’t sell easy set one in store so had it delivered! Smeared peanut butter on opening then smeared rest on trap plate - GOT HIM! Relocated him to a new home in a big park! I was so scared but it wasn’t bad. Cover him with a blanket & put a tarp down in car in case the go potty- it’s easy!

Work a few times then the trigger mechanism quit working & it’s only a month old ?

Fine for helping stray cats. But stop selling these as a solution for ‘pest’ wildlife! Relocating wildlife to unfamiliar environments is ILLEGAL in many places because the animals often die from lack of food or shelter, or fights with resident animals. Orphans may be left behind. And if people don’t fix the problem that attracted the animal to their yard, another animal will likely take its place! These are not humane at all if they are used to transport a live animal to its death.

Worked well for catching the racoons that were damaging my backyard landscaping. I used marshmallows as bait, as recommended, putting a couple under the trip-plate and that worked great.

Even though it's supposed to be a large cage it seems like more of a medium size to me but it did the job. I caught something the first night that I put it out even though it wasn't what I was trying to catch. Unfortunately, I don't know if it had to do with the cage or not but the animal we caught cut its foot pretty bad and there was blood all over and I had to clean it up. But all in all, I'm satisfied. It works and the great thing about it is that it was easy to use.

Easy-set trap indeed, and got the kitty - unharmed - right away! Yet it would be nice to have an access for setting the bait, instead of reaching all the way through.

In October 2022, bought first the Havahart trap 7 x 7 x17 inches for a skunk. In the morning, the trap door was closed. All evidence that the skunk entered the trap, ate the bait and escaped. Next day we bought a bigger Havahart trap 10 x 12 x 32 inches. A trap door was also closed in the morning. Skunk entered the trap, left lots of traces of its staying, and left the trap. Skunk also bent the trap, so that the door was closing with difficulty now, touching the wall, which confirms other reviewers' comments about the easily deformed cage of the trap. Overall, this is rather an entirely useless for the purpose product, thoroughly designed to minimize the production costs and maximize manufacturer's profits. With my experience, very much doubt about the ingenuity of the positive reviews.

review of trap, update. relocated 7 to date last 2 entered trap and released themselves. only have still pix so need to solve the escape

I bought this trap 2 weeks ago to rid my yard of Raccoons who were ripping up my lawn. To date have relocated 7. Used raw hamburger as bait works wonderful. Relocate critters 5 to 10 mi. away or they will find their way back

trap worked fine after I repaired trigger. It was hooked up wrong.

A Waste of money, forget it

Great product. Easy to set, caught a groundhog the second day we set it, and it stayed latched even with the critter flailing around frantically trying to find a way out.

It was easy to use, following the simple instructions, and it worked for me. I caught three groundhogs in a week. I was skeptical at first, because I hadn't used a trap before, and wondered if it was really effective, so I was very pleased with the results. I would recommend it.

This is well worth the extra cost. It's sturdy and truly easy to set. Big improvement over standard model.
