This unit was easy to set up and is quiet. We ran the unit in the basement continuously for three days as directed. This is an unfinished and little-used New England basement with a stone foundation ca. 1890. There is a vapor barrier under the new poured concrete floor but none on the walls, except for the spray foam insulation covering the above-ground portion of the foundation and a foot or two of the stone. The floor area is roughly 800 square feet. Headroom is under 6 feet. The humidity level started at 80% and over three days has gradually come down to 58%, according to the dehumidifier display. A hand-held hygrometer shows 48% near the ceiling joists where the air is warmer (75 degrees). This seems as low as it is likely to go in current weather conditions, with humidity outdoors and upstairs in the house (which is not air conditioned) in the 60% range. Water seeping steadily into the drain shows that the machine is pulling a lot of moisture out of the air. The basement definitely feels and smells better, but with 50% humidity being advised to prevent mold, I would be happier if the machine could meet that goal. Our electricity consumption has increased by about 10 KWH per day since the unit was installed. The controls are not intuitive. I followed instructions to start continuous use but have not been able to figure out how to stop continuous use. I emailed customer service about this but after three days have not received an answer. This dehumidifier has met our needs of reducing "basement smell" in the house in wet or humid weather. I am concerned about the cost of operation and wish it were a bit more powerful, but I am generally satisfied.

Like any other electrical device, this unit will consume power, and there will be an increase in electricity consumption. Continuous drainage operations can be started and stopped by pressing the button on the control panel. All instructions are given in the product manual given along with the unit. I am happy overall with my purchase except for the size of the bucket. I purchased the larger size for a large volume only to have to run the hose due to the extremely small bucket. I had a 50-pint dehumidifier from a different manufacturer for nearly 10 years and it has a larger bucket on it then this 70-pint. If the bucket was bigger I would have given 5 stars. The unit is quiet and easy to use.

Our second one and we still have a another problem
We had to return our first one due to a grinding noise occurring intermittently. When we received our replacement, this one keeps getting ice build up. We have now have had two 70 pint versions and they both have failed. We have this exact one in a 50 pint and works like a champ. I cannot believe how much time this model has caused us in returns/setup/trouble shooting. I highly recommend going with the 50 pint.

We are sorry to hear this ! Sometimes, frost appears on the coils of the unit. This happens when the dehumidifier has been recently turned on in low room temperatures (usually below 41°F (5°C)).
This is normal. Frost will disappear in an hour or so after the dehumidifier is switched off. Our customer support team will be able to look into your concerns and troubleshoot for you. This dehumidifier works great and really removes the water from the air. It has several moisture settings and a continuous setting as well. (what I run mine on) It will fill the bucket in about 10 hours. The Dehumidifier also comes with a hose and adaptor fitting so it can be placed next to a drain. The handle allows you to easily move the unit around. The humidity display and the water level sight glass on the front of the unit are also real nice features.

Not good product
Bought the 70 pint Honeywell well with in two months it went to EH think it said well had to call the 800 number on book came with and they said to return to store it no good because of the code it was reading not even two months old so had to box it up take to store and they don't have one so I told them I don't want to order Same one and two months got to replace again so trying to find a good product ..
