Great island top, but ........
Purchased the island top. Looks great, but good luck finding any matching counter tops, or response from interbuild email?
I ordered the counter tops that should have matched - wrong.
Drove to a home depo only to find they are wrong color as well.
Something that was so promising has turned into a major headache

love this!!
We added a 6 foot island to our kitchen and all i wanted was the butcher block top. I couldnt find one wide enough for what i needed until this!! I was so happy and its perfect!!

This is a really beautiful piece of wood. I purchased it as a counter top for my laundry, and then used 3 extra cuts for laundry shelving. I don’t have the patience for 3+ coats of the recommended wax, so I did some research and used Obie’s Oil, you only need one coat, and it goes on super smooth. This wood was easy to work with, it cut nicely, and the finished product looks amazing! I would definitely recommend!

Does not match
I purchased the island and a 6 ft piece. The pieces did not match. Totally different colors. Had I known this I would of bought plan color wood and polished myself. I assumed that the dusk grey would look equally the same and no extra work be needed. That was not the case. I now have to pay someone to sand it down and re stain it and hope it looks decent after that. Very disappointed and I would not recommend you buy this product. I contacted Home Depot in regards to this and of course they are no help and don’t seem to care.

Hi Lynn. I am sorry to hear this has not been a good experience for you. We use 100% Acacia wood. This means it is a natural blend of colors. All our products are in a prefinished state and need to be sealed. You can seal it by adding extra color or by using a clear hardwax oil. Pleased with the look
Used the 6' for a customers mudroom bench. They loved the coloring. My wife saw the pics and wants to do some shelving in our laundry room with it as well as a similar bench.

Disappointing All Around
First off, understand that I does NOT appear as pictured, and I expected it to need some level of sanding/polying but the finish was streaky and many gaps/knots/checks were filled with an epoxy on both surfaces of the slab so there was no “good” side. It was a flat finish, very dark and looked more like a bla k primer than an ebony stain - nonstops character whatsoever. All four corners were dented. There was a large check on the end grain. The piece felt solid and didn’t have any apparent bows to it but I rejected it at the store before I had the chance to put a straight edge across the grain.

I wanted to have a sitting area on my island, so i saw this butcher block counter top on line and ordered it, it came well packaged with no issues I could find, it looks great and gives me the sitting depth I was needing. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a butcher block counter top.

I haven’t received it. First one was damaged. After hacking to go to store 3 times because store couldn’t find order. Second one your employee didn’t place order and said we were disconnected which we weren’t. Had to after thinking it was ordered to find out wasn’t then reorder, I ordered this originally long time ago. So service has been terrible and hope will someday receive the product.

Turned out well
I bought this for my laundry room to go over my washer and dryer. The normal 25 inch counter top would have been way too short. Got it cut to fit and it turned out exactly as expected.
However, I lightly sanded and added a second coat of the stain which took over 2 full days to dry and is still a bit tacky 5 days later.

Hi Neufy 16. Thank you for the excellent review. If the panel is still tacky it is because you did not wipe the wax/oil off enough. I do suggest you sand it again and when you add more wax/oil you must wipe it of until it is dry. After you apply a coat of wax/oil you wait for about 15 minutes and start removing it. I purchased 4 of these, cut/ripped them in half lengthwise to 20” x 6’ and used them as shelves (8 total) in my walk-in pantry. The dark color and wood grain is beautiful! I used a clear satin finish water based Polyurethane for protection. I love my new pantry!!

I should have sent this back the day it was delivered, as it seemed a little too flexible for comfort. Massive cracks have developed after only three weeks, two of which are already through the entire thickness, about a third of the way across. There's barely any weight on the wood, and it's well supported. It's just junk and should be avoided.
