Kohler's Rubicon grab bar is sturdy and attractive in brushed nickel, but what I did not realize when ordering is this bar is best for a horizontal installation (more on that in a bit). It comes in 16" and 24" lengths so you can install it firmly in studs (depending on how your house is framed); in my (limited) experience, you definitely want to install a grab bar directly into the wall framing. Most grab bars come in sizes that are not multiples of 16 or 24 inches - to hit the framing with those, you either install at an angle or vertically. I have 16" framing and had planned to install this bar vertically, but the way it attaches (set screw) makes a vertical installation somewhat unattractive. It will be repurposed as a angled horizontal bar in another of our bathrooms.

This grab bar comes in a modern, clean design. i have had great experience with Kohler products and this one does not disappoint. The material quality was excellent and it feels strong and sturdy in the hand. The package includes everything I need for the installation: screws, a manual and a template for drilling holes. The installation is pretty straightforward and I would definitely recommend this in a bathroom that features a modern, clean look.

KOHLER Rubicon 9 inch Grab Bar in Vibrant Brushed Nickel is attractive and functional. Installs easily. Included with the grab bar are directions, screws and an alan wrench to assist in installation. The screws are attached under a decorative escutcheon plate, measuring 2.25 inches in diameter, thus a nice finished installation and the screws aren't visible. We installed two grab bars, the 9 inch bar vertically to assist with getting in and out of the tub safely. This 9 inch bar supports up to 300 pounds!! It's a win win, functionality and an attractive addition. Once again, Kohler never ceases to impress.

We did have a suction grab bar that on the wall in the shower but it became unsafe as the water that being sprayed was starting to make it unstable. That is, my wife grabbed hold of it while removing herself from the tub and the suction pad came away. We went for this particular grab bar for two main reasons. One is that we do have other KOHLER products and not one has ever caused us an issue. This beautiful chrome bar has one main screw hole and two slotted screw holes which are ideal if slightly out with the screw fasteners in order for the unit to slot into the base. This is secured by way of using the supplied allen key Because that particular shower wall is hollow, I installed it just outside using my own wood screws as the supplied ones were too long at 2-1/2 inches long. The supplied excellent template allows no room for error and provides a 300Lbs of support. The 9 inches length is ideal for grabbing hold of. A perfect solution for a much needed safety issue

Modern! Sleek! That was the first thing I thought of when I unwrapped this grab bar. I got it for my Mom, but I think I want to keep it! This grab bar is solid and well-constructed. The actual bar is very wide (see pictures) so it will feel good in larger hands as well. Everything that you need to install the grab bar is included but since it is 24”, if you are mounting it horizontally only one bolt will hit a stud if you do not have blocking. We just renovated my mother’s shower so we installed blocking. The grab bar is solid and a beautiful – highly recommend.

The product is very well made and it is corrosion free. It is very sturdy and has an amazing 500 lbs rating. The best part I like is the installation; it is so easy to do it thanks to the included Cardboard Template, which is the engineering drawing, and that was very helpful to make the necessary holes on the wall at the exact place. It is a foolproof piece of art and much needed help for the easy and perfect installation. With that piece of cardboard template, anybody can install this grab bar very easily without any hesitation and skepticism. The grab bar looks pretty and can be installed with any decor. Most of the Grab bars I found (and even got bids on to install) have Escutcheons (cover plates) that are 3" diameter...which was a bit too large for the location near our shower/bath. These are approx. 2-9/16" and fit perfect. Quality is excellent. Very heavy duty. Nice finish. Stainless screws. Ended up installing 6 ( of several different lengths). Did use Home Depot delivery as store inventory was low or OOS at my local store...no issues with the free delivery.

Kohler makes the BEST support system to attach perfectly to wall without gaps. This contractor's choice every time!

This Kohler grab bar is beautiful. We were able to install it into studs. Only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so good. Love having the grab bar.

I love the look of this bar, but the black matte paint started peeling. No harsh scrubbing. I am kind of stuck with the holes that are already there. I am going to try the chrome. I'll let you know how it goes.

Perfect grab bar for water closet. Both practical and stylish. Perfect size around. Bigger ones looked too clinical. I purchased in matte black to match all of my other bath assessories. (Towel bars, faucets, knob, handles).
