This was such a pain in the neck to install....
This was such a pain in the neck to install. I’ve installed dead locks and door knob locks before. This one was not easy to line everything up. Not a great design. And the little cover plate was super thin and flimsy.

I got it in! However the piece covering the middle...
I got it in! However the piece covering the middle is not Brass and if fell off and made a dent. It still worked but looks damaged at the top.

Great value. We changed out our front and back doors, 2 interior double doors and 8 other door sets. I'm a homeowner, Nota carpenter. This hardware is very well constructed. Instructions well laid out and easy to follow. The change out went seamlessly, even the 4 piece front door set. Highly recommend kwikset!

A little difficult to install, a very good lock. I was looking for a deadbolt lock with a single key on each side … this is the only one I found. The rekeyfeature is simple and works perfectly … this allows us to use existing keys (one key works on all external locks. Quality is excellent … price is a bit high.

Machine Screws Too Long
Installed on 100 year old door, replacing existing Kwikset double deadbolt. Upon tightening two long machine screws that clamp inside and outside together, outside disc around key way was pushed out. Screws were 3/16” too long. I was able to tap disc back in. Ground off ends of screws and chamfered edge to clean up threads.
Be aware when installing on thinner door. Re: comment on double deadbolt security fault - reaching through and removing machine screws...this deadbolt comes with tamper proof screws to cover main machine screws solving that security issue.

Needed to secure it door against unsen entry; the double key option was the quickest and most ost reasonable. Your “smart key” is a no-brained and made the task quick and simple. Now we have a more secure back entrance and the whole house has only one series of lock.

The door that it was being installed on was metal...
The door that it was being installed on was metal covered & getting the “deadbolt” secured after the 1” hole was cut was problematic. That edge was metal & cutting a square into it after the 1” round hole was drilled out was difficult. Kwikset sells another similar model that has a collar that presses into the 1”. We made it work & it works great now. Double check your door prior to purchase & decide which style you need prior depending on your door. It will save you a whole heap of troubles… .

Double cylinder makes no difference
The reason double cylinders are used is for entry doors with glass sections that can be shattered to gain access to the inside of the single cyliinder deadbolt that are openable without keys.. Still , double cylinders can be as easily defeated by unscrewing the two machine screws that are accesible on the inside with a philips screwdriver though it takes longer by a couple minutes.. I suggest that the machine screws be secured somehow by preventing the ability to use a philips screwdriver.
