Waste of money! Stay away!
Resurfaced my blacktop drive way with this sealer Aug 2022. The sealer says 10 years which is a joke. It worn in about a year. We only drive two cars in the household. I did everything for the preparation. Washed my driveway. Rented a Honda blower. Even used a knife to clean out all the cracks. If you apply the a thicker coat it will crack. If you do a thin coat it will not last a year. This is a horrible product. This is only be good for flipping a property. Stay away. Waste of time and money.

No mixing needed. I placed the buckets upside down for a day prior to use. After cleaning and prepping the surface, I applied the product directly to the asphalt and evenly spread it throughout. Actually, the prep work took the most time. The process was easy for just one person to complete from start to finish.

    Application went smooth
Just bought and applied Ultra Shield. My driveway is about 30’x80’ so I did the math and bought ten 4.5 gallon containers in order to apply two layers to my driveway. I started at 1:30pm and the first coat took just over four containers. By the time I was done with the first coat I was able to start over where I began and apply the second coat. The second coat took two and half containers. When I was done it was 5pm, I had 3 full remaining containers and my back was killing me. Looks good tho💯

        GREAT PRODUCT
I read the reviews for this product before buying it. It seemed half the people loved it and half hated it. I took a chance and orderd it. Based on the square footage it would cover per bucket, I woul need three. But my driveway is 70 years old and cracked and pitted and fissured. I orderd seven. I used six and a half. I used an old push-broom to spread it. Started early in the morning and was finished it two hours - the driveway is 12 feet wide and 60 feet long. It was dry to walk on in no time - except for the fissures. But by morning it was perfect. My only mistake: I dumped out a little to much at the end and there’s no easy way to get it back in the bucket. I spread it on the street, doing my civic duty to help our roads. Great product

Very good product. To make sure this works best in your favor you need to make sure you prep your driveway very well. This product lays easy and spreads easily. If you’re working during a hot summer sun, you’ll need to move this product fast down the driveway to avoid it from drying up quick. Highly recommend!

Thank you for your positivecomments and excellent advice! You are absolutely correct that the key to a successful seal is taking the time to properly clean and prep the area before laying down the sealer. It looks like your driveway turned out great.

1 Year Later - Poor Longevity
Followed directions (2 coats) product doesn't last. 1) Durability. The product never completely dries/hardens. Latexite will adhere to the bottom of your shoes and track in the house. 2) Erosion. We paid for the Ultrashield (Airport Grade) to for longevity but we can already see the base asphalt coming through as the product erodes. 3) We used additional latexite products to seal cracks in the driveway and those patches have all failed as well. Recommendation: Get a professional.

            Great product
Just did a parking lot with 16 5 gallon pails and it went on so smooth. There was only 1 pail that was too thick but I used that were there was a lot of damage to fill the crevices. Temperature was around 85, full sun on the lot. We were able to get 2 coats on it and get the lot re-striped in 1 day.

Easy to apply. It’s easier when you have two people one person doing the edges in the other with the squeegee..

                Despite my best efforts...
Despite my best efforts to prep my driveway in accordance to the instructions provided this product has failed to adhere to my asphalt. I prep the driveway by pressure washing, turbo blowing & scrubbed with Dawn soap where there & TSP had been oil droppings. I applied the product last September while the days & nights were still warm. Since the end of winter the product has been coming up, mostly in flecks that get tracked into the house or get carried away when it rains down the city drains.

                  Did not last
Applied this product on my driveway in august’22. After a not so unusual upstate New York winter, In May’23 there already were cracks and peeling in many areas. I paid extra for a product that claimed 10 years and it seems to have lasted only about a year. If you will still use this product, *Make Sure* to use follow the directions on the pail with regards to the temperature. In fact, leave some room for error and apply it when it is even hotter than they require on the box.

                    Terrible Crack Sealer Product
Do not buy awful!! Everything settles on it. I wish I brought the green airport sealer bucket that last 4 years; which I had used in the past. It took more than 24 hours to dry. I used two buckets vs one bucket. The estimated calculation is wrong. My driveway held one car only. Also, I am worry what it’s going be like once snow on the surface. You cannot even wash your driveway down after cutting the grass. I would like to be full refunded.

Ordered 5, and then 4 more. 1st 5 was very thick and basically had to be scraped out of pail. 2nd batch still thick but more of what I expected, covered more area. Looks good. Time will tell. I feel that spot patching and a cheaper seal would have been more practical.

Peeled off within one year of application`
I purchased and applied this product last year to my own driveway. It has been less than 1 year, and the sealing coat has been peeled off almost everywhere, despite I followed all the instructions rigorously! I've reached out to manufacture contact to claim the warranty (10 year warranty), but have not heard back anything yet. very disappointed on this product.

                        i Finally Received My Refund!
DISAPPOINTMENT. Driveway did not last ....twice! It failed when I used it a few years ago (according to the company) because I only applied 1 coat. In May/June 2022 I applied 2 coats. We had no snow over the winter. By Jan 2023, my driveway was cracking. The longer crack in the picture was completely Trowel Patched before the Ultra-shield 7 months earlier. Where did it go? There is a sandy sediment on the driveway everytime it rains. I was refunded after contacting the manufacturer.

The is garbage. I bought 24 bucket to do 2 driveway. It started flaking off in 4 months. We contacted homedepot about the problem. No luck. Big waste of time and money

                            The worst, a nightmare
Probably by far the worst driveway coating I have ever used. I have been sealing this same driveway for 18 years now . This product is horrible. It started flaking and chipping within 3 months and by mid winter is was turning into powder. What a mess! cars tracking the powdery substance into the garage and of course eventually it was getting into the house. Home Depot needs to find another vendor. This stuff is garbage. Do not waste your time and money. Junk!

                              Don’t use this product
I wish I would have read the reviews before using this product. Instead, I assumed Home Depot would carry a quality product that could be trusted. Problems: The coverage is about half of what product says. First rain, product bubbled and flaked in various places. Overall the entire product sheds a fine asphalt dust that has now tracked into our home. With the afore mentioned problems I highly doubt the 10 year protection for our asphalt. Use another product.

We did all required prep and still did not hold up. We have a 30x30 area that is coming up. Home Depot does not back the product so hopefully the manufacturer will.

                                  Great product
For success, before you open the bucket roll around on the ground to mix thoroughly. Apply to a dry but swept surface. Don’t apply in hot sun. Best to apply in Sept. Apply first thin coat with a squeegee. Let dry to touch and apply another thin coat. Don’t apply to new or newer asphault. Don’t apply a thick coat, don’t apply in hot blazing sun.

Bad batch or just lack of quality
Avoid this product, it's not worth taking home. I've used this in the past and it worked well. Not sure if they fixed a bad or defective batch, I have had no previous driveway sealer from any company fail this bad. I applied 14 buckets in perfect conditions this summer 2022, following instructions to the t and it failed horribly after the first rain. Flaking, failing as indicated in other reviews. Anyone aware of a class action regarding this company & product?

Low Quality and low Quality Control
We bought 25 buckets of this sealer. This is the 3rd time we used it. It typically lasts 4 to 5 years for us. This time the quality control was bad. We mixed the buckets thoroughly with an electric mixer. Before applying the sealer, we swept with a broom, we used a leaf blower, and we pressure washed. After the sealer dried, you can see color variations. Two weeks later, we got 0.25 inch of rain. In some spots the sealer peeled and bubbled up from the driveway. Not worth the money.

                                        Terrible driveway sealer
I never write reviews but I don’t know how Home Depot sells this garbage. After following directions to the tee I thoroughly cleaned driveways as per directions. I applied product in the summer 85 degree weather. I bought 60 5 gallon buckets and applied it to 4 driveways. While I was applying first driveway, neighbor came over and said I would not use that stuff it peels right up. I figured maybe he didn’t do a good job prepping so I proceeded to apply laterite to 4 driveways and it looked great. I was very happy. First rain came and all 4 driveways , the driveway sealer was started to peel terribly all over. I pressure washed one driveway to get that garbage latexite off, which peeled right up and bought some blackjack driveway sealer to put on. It’s been on 2 months and absolutely perfect , no peeling at all. As soon as weather is good, I will redo all driveways with blackjack. By then I’m sure all the latexlite should have peeled off on its own!

Starting bubbling and peeling on the first rain
I used 2 jugs of crack sealer, 4 gallons of patch and 18 pales of sealer for two coats on our driveway. Driveway was cleaned, crack filled and patched before sealer. Sealer was applied on 70-75F days, night stays over 50F. A few sections which are well shaded took multiple days to dry and resulted in those sections cracking and peeling. After the first rain large patches of the driveway (at least 10% currently) have also bubbled. Next time hiring this out to a pro, not worth the "savings".

I’ve got cracks so deep in my driveway I could fly a plane through them! Using this product allowed me to “keep up with the Jones”. Put it this way my driveway looks Great,(from their house). I love driving out of my driveway while I smile at all of my neighbors! (Who really looks down anyway?!) - highly recommend!

We applied this product to our driveway. We followed the instructions, swept, blew it off with a leaf blower and pressure washed it multiple times. There was no traffic on it for three days. It began flaking the first time it rained. It is tracking everywhere, in the house, in the garage, the kids toy tires pick it up riding across it. Do NOT buy this product. It is a complete waste of time and money.

Goes on easy, but needed more than recomended
Went on smoothly, and I very happy with the results. However, coverage estimates are 300-400 sq.ft. per bucket for an unsealed driveway. I got approximately 200Sq. ft. per bucket for my unsealed driveway on the first coat, and ~325 per sq. ft. on my second coat. That is putting down two thin layers with a squeegee on an 85 degree day. So make sure to estimate about 25-30% more than recommended. The squeegee technique shown in the video took a little getting used to, but it goes quick once you get the hang of it. We edged with a roofing brush. Took about 3 hours for the first coat, 2hrs for the second for a 2050sq. ft. driveway. I'll see if I can update in a year or two. Hopefully it holds up against a New York winter.
