Best foam sealeant
* Easy to work with, sets up fast. * Nice white color, paintable. * Best R-Value (4.5) I've found. * Moderate expansion, doesn't push or bow structures. * Solid hard finish.

I purchased two with the intention of using it to seal up some gaps in my garage, and as much as I would love to tell you about how this product performed I unfortunately cant as I never got the cans to actually dispense the foam. The first can functioned, put the nozzle on and pulled the trigger and foam leaked out. Not from the end of the straw but from the cap connecting to the can. there was no pressure, no actual foam coming out aside for everything leaking down the can and my hand. I thought, "Oh ok. That's weird lets try the other can." The second can fared even worse, once the cap was on and I pulled the trigger no foam came out. I shook it again, pulled the trigger and again... nothing. The only sound I heard was a nice load snap of plastic as the white plastic nozzle you screw the cap onto snapped off completely. This was my first time using Loctite's spray foam and most likely will be my last, if I need spray foam in the future now well I think ill stick to Great Stuff. At least the last time I used that I was actually able to use product.

      Loctite Foam Sealant
Loctite 12 fl. oz. Tite Insulating Foam fills gaps and cracks around your home. Can be used inside or out all year round, provides better insulation, is less likely to shrink or crack, flexes with seasonal changes. The applicator easily screws on and the straw gives you more reach. Be sure to use gloves because the sealant is hard to remove if you get on your fingers. Manipulate with straw while wet, dries fast, can be sanded and stained after drying. I did find the foam continues to expand in straw even when you release the trigger so you can get a little overflow. I used to seal around the windows in my utility building.

Much denser than ordinary foam insulation
I have had a problem with rats in my animal/starter plants room. I had some ordinary foam insulation so I filled the holes with it. It didn't take long until they ate through the ordinary foam insulation, and I put it in thick. I cleaned out all the ordinary foam and applied the Tite Foam. I have had no breach of the Tite Foam and it's been more than a week. The rats don't seem to like it. As you can see, the one in the corner kept expanding even though I used a putty knife to spread it flat. I will get a knife out to trim it when it has had a good time to set up. This stuff gets semi hard on the outside so that a putty knife will not cut through. Warning: put gloves on because it is real sticky. If you do get it on your hands, use some baby powder to remove the stickies.

This stuff is Wonderful! If it was more practical there is nothing I would rather use to insulate any part of my home. in regards to its expansion it takes some getting used to and it can go significantly quick but once you get the hang of it it becomes more efficient each time you use it. It's workability makes it that much more useful. And it doesn't seem to clog as quickly as its competitor Great Stuff. it is also multipurpose use so you don't have to buy individual bottles for individual tasks. Just like in my picture below, I was able to insulate a 2 inch gap in between two studs without an issue. It saved me from having to cut it really difficult piece of hard foam insulation. this is highly recommended

This stuff is GREAT!! We had a break in so we needed temporary security guards. When the wind blew the rain entered into the house and made a bigger muddy mess. A quick trip to our local Home Depo and a little LOCTITE TITEFOAM and we were all dry until the house was put back in order!!! AWESOMENESS IN A CAN!!!!!

        Easy-to-use functional foam
This foam goes on easily with its thick straw and two-trigger applicator. I first shook the can for 30 seconds. The foam was easily directed to a space in the wall where wash machine hoses went from furnace room to laundry room, and I wanted to stop warm air leakage and the passage of mice. Cleanup is with acetone, and I was careful not to get foam where I didn’t want it — I covered the opening in the laundry room wall with cardboard and masking tape, so that no foam would go through the furnace room sheetrock and laundry room sheetrock into the laundry room. I foamed the 6” x 8” open cavity between the two sheetrock walls from the furnace room, and the small 1/4” spaces around the wash machine hoses. I sprayed the foam onto edges of the sheetrock opening to encourage its adherence. I foamed two similar-size openings around electric outlet boxes, and then there was still foam in the can. The foam does expand to about twice its initial volume, and I would have done well to fill just half the cavity as recommended on the can, though I was able to cut off with a knife the excess foam after it cured, in about an hour. The can does not appear to be reusable — once used, the foam cures in the straw. So line up all your foaming projects to do at one time. This foam claims to be “four times as dense as ordinary foam” which sounds good for stopping mice. Looking at and handling the cured foam I cannot tell the difference from ordinary foam, but I like the idea that it’s four times as dense. The can claims that it will block rain water. For keeping in warm air and keeping out rain and mice, this foam is a good investment.

        Works but be careful
I bought it for an unusual use. I have a chair with storage armrests and the wood under the top pad on one of the armrests broke when I leaned on it. It made about a two inch hole that was driving me nuts. I thought i could use the foam to fill the area from below. I drilled a hole in the bottom and started filling with foam. I underestimated the expansion and hardness of the foam. I used most of the can and had it come seeping back out and bulge in places I didn't want. It seemed to continue to expand for a couple hours. It also got harder than I thought. Plus side. it had little oder. I have tried using acetone to dissolve some of it and will try a product the depot sells to remove foam and sealers. But as an insulation and hole sealer it works great.

Ideal for sealing and filling gaps!
I have large gaps around 2 water pipes that go through my concrete block foundation to the outside spigot. The gaps allow cold air around the water pipes in winter as well as an opening for mice and insects. Loctite Foam was perfect in filling the gaps, insulating the pipes, and closing the opening. It is easy to use. Screw the plastic application straw to the valve after shaking well. Gently press the trigger and the foam comes out easily. It is very sticky so wear some type of gloves to protect your hands. A friend used this product around a doggie door to seal and fill the gaps. It can be cut/trimmed after it sets/dries and can be sanded and painted so was great to finish out the doggie door trim to match the door and look professionally finished . Can be used on interior and exterior.. White in color. Made in Estonia /Northern Europe.

Great in filling gaps; can be messy
The straw was easily removed from the cap's holder and screwed on with a little difficulty (see video). The foam extruded through the top of the straw and into the hole very easily, and nothing came out from the bottom of the straw (i.e., no leaks). When done, I unscrewed the straw, and put it in a shallow container of acetone (per the instructions on the can), and was amazed at how easily the stuff inside the straw dissolved! I cleaned up some excess around the hole with my gloved hand. At first, I was disappointed with the lack of expansion of the foam in and around the hole, but, after returning an hour later, I was stunned that it had expanded at least twice as much as I had sprayed! The directions on the can stated that it could be cut after an hour, which I did (it was like cutting into a soft, but dense, styrofoam, block), but I found it a little gooey under the surface of the foam inside the hole, so, I'd recommend waiting longer for a cleaner cut, assuming you intend on leveling it to the surface or otherwise making it aesthetically better (I didn't need it to be so, but did it just a little for the sake of this review). I strongly recommend using gloves, because the stuff is incredibly sticky, and I found that acetone, alcohol, WD40, etc, do not do an adequate job on skin (the thin, throwaway, bulk, gloves sold in many hardware and department stores are more than sufficient, though dish washing gloves may be best). Also, do not try this on small holes, as the foam will "back up" toward you, creating a big mess! IMHO, holes or gaps should be at least 2" wide. Anything smaller should use spackle, drywall paste, or similar. I used the Loctite Tite Foam around plumbing (clean the pipes and make sure there are no cracks, breaks, corrosion, etc, or you'll just have to remove the foam at some later date, which may make the task even more difficult), and even in the gaps between our heating ducts and walls (I tested it after drying for 2 hours with the thermostat set at 80 degrees and let it run for 15 minutes, and there was no odor and no discoloration), and in the gap of the bathroom exhaust fan and drywall (use eye and face protection in case the stuff drips down on you, as it did me, and I was glad I used protection!), and it even patched a hole in the undercarriage of my car where a 3" hole had appeared due to rust (my mechanic pointed it out to me when I got an oil change; I thoroughly cleaned it at the top and bottom with sand paper, then sprayed it, and, after drying for 3 hours, removed excess foam on both sides; FWIW, I didn't want to buy a tub of fiber glass repair for such a small hole). I am very impressed with Loctite Tite Foam!

Tite foam is really a tighter cell expanding foam insulation - just what I needed
Loctite Tite foam makes a denser cell expanding foam so if you cut the foam once cured - the cells are much smaller. In my opinion more weather resistant for exterior applications. I had a vertical breech to fill and a hole cut for a condensate overflow line to fill. The Loctite Tite foam did the job perfectly. One reviewer complained that the foam had fallen from his overhead vertical application. Loctite Tite foam would have done this seal job if the proper prep work is followed. You would need something to hold the weight of the foam in place until it has cured. I've used hardware cloth with good results for voids larger than 2 inches. For small holes, the foam holds in place without any run-outs or settling in the hole. The can does have to be held upside down to dispense. My only problem is that the straw trigger un-threads too easily from the can. When you are trying to angle the straw, hold the can upside down and squeeze the trigger - it seems invariably that the trigger has already unseated from the can thread. Other than that, it is a very good product. It is a urethane so it will stick to almost anything including skin - very difficult to remove. Wear old clothes and make certain to wear gloves. It cuts and trims nicely for a flush finish that can be painted.

        Gooey Proposition
I am a long-time believer in the effectiveness of the Lock-Tite brand, having used a variety of their products with great satisfaction over the years. Unfortunately, my experience with this product left much to be desired. The small project I had in mind was to seal a couple of duct and plumbing vents (see pictures). I followed the directions, vigorously shaking the can contents prior to use, and then applied the foam to the galvanized ducting of a dryer vent that protrudes through the roof of my house. As it was dispensed onto the duct, the foam accumulated and then proceeded to fall and run down the duct. I was in my attic, and did not think I would need any other tool for this job, so I was forced to use the plastic dispensing "straw" to try to spread the foam and get it to adhere to the ducting. I was modestly successful (see picture), but in the process got the drippy gooey concoction on my hands. I was more successful with an application to the area of a PVC plumbing vent pipe (see picture). I suspect this is because there was a pocket through which this pipe was located, which acted to hold the foam from dripping. I had expected this product to easily adhere to almost anything (it is Lock-Tite after all!), . . . but it was not to be without a lot of finessing. On the plus side, the can is nicely packaged with a plastic hoop securely holding the “straw” dispenser, thus minimizing the chance that you will lose it on the way to the work-site. The instructions on the can caution you to dress adequately, and to protect your skin from exposure to the foam, as it is difficult to remove. I will attest to this difficulty, as it took a rather generous use of acetone to remove it from my fingers. If you decide to proceed with this product, I strongly suggest you use gloves. I cannot recommend this product based upon the difficulty I had with the application.

Good for air sealing - Some benefits over competitors
Tite foam is great for air sealing. I used several cans to insulate my basement rim joist and exterior wall joist box. I like how the nozzle attaches to the cap of the can which is more secure vs other methods. I also like that it is a larger nozzle opening which makes dispensing quick and easy. The foam dries hard with high compression strength and is only slightly off white. Specs indicate that's it is 4x more dense, but not certain if this translate to the added cost vs other expanding foam.
