The Moen Essie Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Reflex and Power Clean in Chrome uses our Reflex™ hose and hose weight system to ensure smooth operation, easy movement and secure docking of the pull-out sprayer. With regard to retracting and holding the sprayer tightly to the end of the spout, this is done by the proper placement of the hose weight on the hose under your sink. You will note that there is a natural loop that the sprayer hose makes under the sink; find the mid-point of this loop and 3” off center on the side going up to the sprayer position the weight. This will ensure that the weight provides enough tension to keep the sprayer in the end of the spout. You will also want to make sure that the path the hose and the weight move through is not blocked or impeded by anything under the sink. Per the installation instructions, the round gasket at the base of your faucet (shown in your second picture) should only be installed when the faucet is installed through a single hole, not when the deck plate is used.
