An very good lightweight drill that gets the job done. This is not Makita's flagship drill but plenty capable of all but the most unusual tasks. It has enough power to drill in steel and wood is a piece of cake. I like this drill because it is well balanced, and the ergonomics is phenomenal.

Great speed control for driving screws

I "returned" drill - Makita changed the battery style and size again!! Since no one includes a battery with the tool anymore and the new tool didn't fit ANY of the 3 other sizes and styles of Makita batteries I currently have, the last thing I need is another single battery charger and battery or a complete set of new tools.

I was doubting the size but wow this small hammer drill is great!

Great drill works to my expectation .. highly recommended

I hate this drill because it WOBBLES. I can take the same bit and put it in my other two drills and they turn perfectly. When I put it in this one it has a slight wobble. Not a big wobble, but just enough to ensure that you can't drill small precise holes. This drill is basically a drill to be used only for it's hammer drill capabilities. It's useless as a drill. Got a replacement at Home Depot and the second one does the same thing. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand.

It is much better then the black set which the arbor locked up on and can not get a bit out of it.

Powerful drill for medium works

I found the new 18v LXT Hammer Drill Driver brushless tool to be quiet and efficient. No trouble with the transmission getting locked up in hammer only mode. I believe that problem was mainly found in earlier versions and has been since fixed.

I have the subcompact version and this one has now replaced it as my go-to drill/driver. Power to weight ratio is amazing, drives like a champ and hammer-driver into concrete is fantastic (will never replace my corded SDS) heavier than my subcompact but that is to be expected.

I own all dewalt drills until I bout this makita combo an I love it. It’s lighter charges faster an feels better in the hand I think

This is one serious drill… . Enough claimed torque to snap your wrist, sounds great to me. Would like VS function, but not sure if Makita offers one. Will find good home with our other LXT tools
