I have the 9" filter. I got this because of the many pine needles and leaves that get in the gutters. I did not want the new drainage system to get clogged with debris. The good part is that it does catch the debris with ease and nothing goes through it including the small pieces of shingle material. It has no problem draining IF there is light rain. The bad part is the material on the filter is too tight. It does not drain quickly enough and the water backs up out of the grate and overflows. This happens even when the filter has been thoroughly cleaned. I might replace the fiber part of the filter with landscaping cloth. I'm surprised NDS didn't think of or test the amount of water that needs to be able to flow through it adequately so it doesn't back up. The images are light rain with filter, heavy rain with filter, heavy rain no filter, heavy rain with grate no filter.

It is really fine mesh but drains well. I have to remove it here and there to clean it out every now and the as it catches every particle of debris from the gutters.

Sturdy. Long lasting if you rinse them occasionally.

An exceptional product that totally corrected my french drain issues. NO more clogged drain.

While the product is easy to install, a couple of things that make this just an average item is the filter material is nothing more than landscaping weed barrier which can be purchased at any garden center. The other and just as important item is the filter is too long based on where water sits in the bottom of the basin, which means it's not effective in preventing mosquitoes from hatching.

After 3 rain falls it has filtered dirt and other debris so recommend if the catch basin is in a place with leaves and dirt

It caught all the debris but then it would not let water pass through. I returned the item.

Great concept. Obstruction of flow is the final outcome. Have to wait for a good rain to see true results. Have proper drain fall and clean area.

While I do think the price was fair for what I received, the product was surprisingly flimsy—weak plastic, folded in half and little hooks that are dubious at best for securing the net to the square ring. That being said, it is doing the trick in my drains and I have no complaints regarding performance.

Using with NDS 12”x12” Model# 1200BKIT, also purchased at Home Depot. A filter system is a must for all catch basins. I can’t wait for the winter rains.

For my application this filter did not work well. The filter material clogged up with fine dirt and caused the catch basin to overflow. The material just seems to be too fine. If your water stream is cleaner it may work fine.
