In the past I would have used duct tape, but I found it would eventually come off. Bought this and wow it sticks to the insulated vent line covering, holds fast, and so far shows no signs of releasing peeling off. It was easy to cut with a razor knife. Works for me, and looks good installed.

Superior Product for Sealing Ducts
I was skeptical when I saw this product, but it proved to be well worth the expense. It's metallic tape with a wax paper backing. You can measure and cut the desired length without exposing the adhesive. During install, peel back enough to get started. Peel as you wrap the duct. It prevents excess insulation, dust, etc. from binding the adhesive and reducing the adherence. The flexible metal foil is easy to shape and allows for a tight seal. Pair it with a worm clamp for best results.
