the wife was very happy with the outcome of the Olympic Waterguard. Was originally going stain because it seemed to need it but it was to late in season. To prep I did patch work where the dogs peed. The waterguard brought the deck back together perfectly. Happy wife now! I would have loved to added a photo but having a difficult time. Product is well worth it.

The color was a little darker than the outer label shows, however, HD will accept return if you open and don't like it. We did like it though and it made the deck look great! HD delivery service was top notch.

I got the spray paint can in woodland cedar for cedar planks I’m prepping for an outdoor bench. The spray does inherently splatter. I sprayed on a super light first coat, let dry 24 hours. Then I sprayed a very light second coat and used a cheap bristle brush, very lightly dipped in mineral spirits, to smooth out the splatter (“dry brush” technique). This was very effective, but not an instruction provided on the can. So, just 4 stars. The color is intense, so be careful with application.

I properly sanded, cleaned, and brightened my brand new redwood deck. Then, following the application instructions exactly, applied Olympic Waterguard Clear Wood Sealer. It looked excellent. A week later had a first rain, and the entire deck was riddled with spots and blotches. I tried cleaning them off, but was still left with spots everywhere. All I can think to do is pressure wash all the product off and start completely over. I've sealed decks before and this has never happened.

I used the one gallon can of this stain/sealer. I really loved it at first, but I am noticing some inconsistencies with the color. I have attached photos of my deck with the Woodland Cedar color that I applied. It went from a rich color to a red color. I had to stop this project and now try to figure out how to fix this mess of my deck.

Used this to seal my picnic table and my raised garden bed. Came out beautiful. I did use two coats, and I am glad I chose the Redwood color, instead of Cedar.

Used this on our dock and this color is beautiful. Went on really well.

The color of Acorn Brown was exactly what I wanted. The only problem was the spray kept splattering And I had to go back and brush it with a sponge brush. I noticed other people have the same problem. I thought maybe it was a bad spray can but I bought four and each one was like that very frustrating. Other than that, it covered well. I put a before and after photo , I still need to go back and fix areas.

Maybe I just got a bad can, but this clogged up every *couple of seconds.* Luckily I had mineral spirits on hand and a rag to smooth out the splatters of paint, but it was a mess. I couldn’t imagine dealing with the clogging on a larger project. I wish I just bought a can, it would have been easier. With a lot of patience, the chairs did come out great. All in all, the product seems great, but the application was a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend.

It was good but it is very dark in color...I was looking for a lighter color. But it was very good at first coat application...good overall

I bought this 2 years ago for a wishing well and a chicken run and it has held up so nicely compared to other exterior stains that I’ve used. Moisture beads up so I know it’s protecting my wood. The color hasn’t faded or chipped away. I recently re purchased it to use on my new chicken coop. The color is an exact match 2 years later.

I have a lot of cedar in my backyard between my kids’ playhouse and patio covering. I pressure washed all of it on day one and stained on day two. This stuff is great. Very forgiving. Keep a wet edge. Slopped it on and it looks fantastic. Time will tell how long it lasts.

Just used it so not sure how well it will protect our Fence and Patio. It was easy to apply, the price is crazy High, but what's not now days. Excited that it went on clear. Looks pretty.

stains black after first exposure to rain. applied as described. now need to remove, sand and hope it comes off. there goes 3 days of my life. ogg representative says it's my fault.

No matter what you do Mother Nature will always win. Spend, work, and clean to protect a deck made of PT wood.now days is a waste.. Concrete is the only answer to get out of constant maintenance.

I had to switch after Thompson's ruined their product. This works great. Seals well and lasts quite awhile. I have over 2000 sq ft of deck, and this stuff keeps it from getting too old before its time.

It didn’t work for my fence. I did apply this product in a new fence and 4 months after this is how it looks

"Woodland Cedar" Basically ruined small wooden 2 chairs and table set...it is bright orange and very fake looking, wish i didn't use this. I guess i will try "Acorn Brown" shade to cover. But basically a waste of time and money unless this fades quickly :(

Just great! It gave the new redwood decking a great finish. It was super easy to apply and I am confident to do it again in a couple of years for maintenance.

Sprayed on and wiped off like normal stain. Turned out great!

I got this to spray the lattice we were putting around the bottom of the deck. It does not even come close to the color of the paintable version of the same color. The left is the spray and the right is the painted version. Both are semi transparent acorn brown. This comes no where close to matching the rest of our decking.

Second can in a row with a leaking nozzle after shaking thoroughly for more than two minutes. Not worth $15 for the amount of coverage either.

Has good consistency can be sprayed or rolled. Even though 'Transparent' the tint in Woodland Cedar is fairly strong and stays with the application. I would describe more as semi-transparent. During application, the product, like others, is very susceptible to hotter temperatures or sun vs. shade during application. In order to have visually appealing (even coat) you need to apply to the wood when it is all at the same temperature and sunlight conditions, ideally <80 degF and cloudy/shady. I'm a repeat user of the product, once applied, cheaper to stick with same color/product line for future applications. I get about 18 months use for sun and weather exposed areas.

should have read the reviews before I purchased this. I did all the correct surface preparation, and now have a pumpkin orange deck. It looks just horrible ! Home Depot was good to refund my money. Olympic Stain Customer Service did not take responsibility for the defective product. When I challenged the lady on this, she hung up on me ! How this was handled, has turned me right off of the brand. Not sure if she was having a bad day.

The only downfall I can say is the stain took about 2 days to dry in certain areas. Other than that, came out great.

The look at my new PT Pine sanded cleaned and stained "woodland cedar" back deck. its flipping orange not at all transparent and generally a eyesore I'm going to have to live with for a long time.WHen you crack open the container your gonna think " it will surely look different after I stir it" then a generous 5 mins of power mixing later you may think " wow this is really really bright" after slapping some on some wood and seeing how quickly it absorbs your doomed. it goes on thick, dries quickly and remains a orange hell scape you will never retreat too. Now I have half a deck in this horrible orange showing no signs of fading. so to sum up if your opinion on opening the container is wow this looks bad maybe I should return it, listen to your instincts. On the plus side it is water repellant should protect from UV and generally speaking were not gonna spend any time on this deck now so it will keep it in good shape from traffic as well. SEND IT BACK its orange you fools!

Sanded and pressure washed our new PT pine deck, sprayed on the acorn brown with HVLP and back brushed with a roller on decking and sponged on rails. It really did a great job for a bunch of DIYers, soaked in easily dried quickly. We did have a mix up with the spray gun and applied it extra thick on part of the deck but it really just gave it a good variation of color that we didn't mind, we applied a second coat to the deck to even it out and just skipped over the heavy spots. Direct light brings out a reddish tone we like and you can see water repelling a day later when the the rain came to test it

Hope this is helpful for buyers nothing wrong with the quality but the color is not transparent it is orange it should say this on the bottle I bought 2 5 gallon buckets in March of 2020 only ended up using one because the color was not what I wanted the following year I change the color and had to go with darker then I wanted to get rid of the orange color.
