I installed 30 of these for a large fence in my yard, it's been two years since and I've had to replace 12 of them so far. The completely rotted out where they contacted the ground. I'm not sure how they get away with calling them "rated for ground contact" because they will absolutely fail. In an attempt to recoup some money I investigated the warranty policy with McFarland Cascade and their Lifetime warranty does not cover damage if the wood is "used as fence posts". The warranty information can be found under the "info & guides" section on the Home Depot page. I wouldn't trust these to contact the ground in any application.

Posts seem to be better quality than the 2x4 from a straightness standpoint. Recommend predrill holes before screwing but make excellent fence posts. Cuts fine on a miter saw no restrictions.

We used these for a deer fence around a raised bed garden. After applying a stain it looks great.

Nice solid and treated and not dehydrated.

I used pressure treated 4"x4"x8' posts to build handrails for our timber/paver steps and our cement steps. The posts were set in concrete for added strength to support the handrails. I also used these PT post to protect against termites, decay and rot. I used these PT post two weeks ago and really impressed with the results.

This post arrived with a crack running halfway down the length. Unfortunately I didn't inspect it closely until I was ready to use it. Now I'll have to get another one to finish my project. Disappointed.

Bought to enclose gravel for fire pit & patio. The wood already broke down when it was stepped on by 225 lb person. Looks nice and will likely do the job, just didn’t think it would break down so easy.

Great posts, there were only two out of 50 that were not in excellent condition.

Posts were nice and straight, in great condition with no splitting or slivers.

Set in concrete in Corvallis, Oregon, in 2012, and now rotted out (March, 2018). Already having to replace what I thought would be my last fence project. Above ground it dries out and splits. Total fail and I would NOT recommend for any exterior application. I can't say how well it would do on an interior project.

Rotted after just 3 years! In 2014 I used these to rebuild a cedar fence in our back yard. I set the posts in concrete and followed all recommendations. This summer (2017), I decided to check the wood just above the concrete and found that a third of the posts were already soft! We spent over $750 on materials for this fence, and it's looking like it may not even last five years. Never again will I use "treated" wood for in-ground applications. The modern wood treatment is nearly worthless. Next time I'm using galvanized fence posts.

They are wet, uncured. After two weeks of setting fence posts many have bowed. Will have to chip out two feet of concrete to replace

Soaking wet and bows and twists when it dries out.One best secure it soon or it will be worthless.I clamped two straight edges to it for a week while it lost the water wieght

Damaged end. Customer service issue. They have perfect one's but they like to slip you the crap
