Easy to use. I like that Home Depot carries a two-pack but disappointed in their stocking methods. I bought the last ones off the rack a few weeks ago, but still empty this week. Their computer says they've still got 11 more packs, but not found in physical stock.

Simple to install. I found this lock in a 2-pack arrangement for $6.47/pack. These locks work well for vinyl windows built with a "U-Shaped" sliding channel. Most locks are made for 1/2" windows ... but vinyl windows have an outer frame which exceeds 1/2" (and are actually 5/8" thicker than standard metal windows..., inner and outer). This lock will secure windows that both slide and lift. If doubled at upper and lower window points, this lock will also secure sliding glass doors. In which case, I would recommend 3 of these locks for every sliding glass door; ... with 2 locks positioned at the bottom ledge + 1 lock securing the top of the sliding glass door.

Easy to use & adjust. I actually had been looking for them for a while. I first used them when they were still aluminum & was happy to find them to match my new vinyl windows. have to go back & get a couple more packages.

I bought a similar item (lock with latch) but I could not tighten good enough for my window frame. (someone could easily still push the window open). This tightens excellent without damaging the frame. Most important for me #1 - for security so I can have my window cracked open while not at home and not worry about someone easily opening the window. Also so my pets can not easily push the window open further. #2 - Easy to release in case of emergency (as a fire etc) when getting out quick is so important. Other styles require a separate piece to unlock it, which in an emergency may not be found or take too long. Yes, if someone had a long enough and firm enough wire, they could pull the latch to break in but it would not be an easy task. I will be purchasing more of these.

Very simple solution to make our vinyl double hung windows secure as far as to how much of an opening there can be.

These are clean looking security locks.They blend in well with the white vinyl.Easy to adjust.They hold great with a little adjustment of the screw that tightens the clamp mechanism.If you flip the lever over and you have very little resistance just tighten the screw a little more.If it's too hard to flip the lever over just loosen it a little.If you have adjusted it properly it will hold the window in it's position with no problem.

Easy to assemble is an understatement. What I like best is it's very discrete. Much better than the silver toned ones

Great product for our need to our vinyl windows. Easy to install. It is not bulky either.

It's junk. Poorly designed and doesn't lock anything. It looks like the quick release on a bicycle seat, but there is no difference in tension regardless of the lever position. They just put zero effort into this. Save your money.

Just starting installing them and they seem to work great, easy to install. I thought the price was a bit high but then found that they are 2 per package, which was not stated on line.

You don't just clip both sides (left and right) to make it work. You clip (both units) in one side to make it works perfectly! ----------BOTH UNITS------- at one side! Vinyl windows just suck, you don't drill holes or do anything that harms the surface of the windows. I tried one at a side, I could still push the window up. When I just put both clips at one side, I think I have to break the window frame to make it open. Very secured. Try it if you had a set.

The locks were simple and easy to install; very secure in the window track

Easy to install, even for a height and strength challenged senior woman. May even offer some protection against someone pushing in tilt-in windows, which is not mentioned as a protective factor.

This product does make me happy! I own 2 of these and am off to buy about 4 more....It looks better than a "stick" in the window (to block the window from sliding) and it is very secure. (truthfully i like the stick and this device together- they can see the stick from the street along with my electronic alarm sign and my beware of dogs sign.) By the way....any window left open no matter what device you use is a visual invitation for any burglar, i don't care if you have a 1000 dollar device installed, if a window is open it is not secure. Even if a window is closed it can be easily broken with a simple rock from your garden. BUT- if you are like me and want to slow down or make a burglar make a lot of noise to break a window...it allows a better chance the thief will be slowed and at the very least make your home less attractive to break into. It also gives my dogs a chance to bark like mad and wake me up to handle the situation. My neighbor across the street chased off 2 burglars that broke into someones house side window, the noise alerted her and it scared them off. Anything you can do to slow down a criminal is go side good in my book.

These work wonderful for my vinyl windows and look great! They are sturdy and allow me to leave my windows open slightly in the summer and still be locked. Great product!

Although I purchased this product for use on a vinyl window I am not using it as intended. I am using it on a standard vinyl window to prevent the window with the air conditioner from being able to slide up from the outside of the house. Sometimes you just have to punt.

Great product for windows on a metal track. No drilling necessary. Simply put in place, tighten the screw and flip the lever for a tight secure fit.

Perfect fix to keep my ac in its spot and peace of mind

I installed one on each of my new windows over a year ago. I left one of my bedroom windows slightly open for ventilation. It seems pretty secured when I tested it. However, I came home from work today and my place was burglarized. The burglar cut the screen on the window first and then was able to slide this device along the window tracks and gain access into the house (though the window that was left slightly open). The police told me that there are better options available and I'm researching now for alternatives. I hope that you'll have better luck securing your home and stay safe.

Does not mar the windows, at least so far. We are using them on both sliding windows and doors, most of which are vinyl. White blends in very well with the window frames.

Bought these after a break-in. We installed and then attempted to break-in ourselves - no matter how tight we got them, they flew right off with a minimal amount of force.

These locks made me feel much safer. They provided an extra measure of security for some windows at the rear of my home. Even if my window is broken, it will take a lot of work and effort to remove the extra window lock.
