This mix is for concrete finishers that are very experienced, are prepared to do a lot of work, and are making a countertop with square edges. Using this mix resulted in a rough finish that would have required lots of sanding and left huge voids from the bubbles in the edge. The quickrete sand topping mix with an add mix is much easier to work with and gives a way better finish, not to mention it is cheaper. Check out the photos below, the bad countertop was done with this mix and the good one was done with the sand topping mix. DON'T BUY THIS ONE!

The water mix ratio did not work for us. If one follows the directions sighted on the bag specifically, the mixture will come out too "soupy". In our case, we had to add more Quikrete to get a thicker consistency that we felt was needed. If using this product, would recommend adding water slowly in order to see how thick one wants the mixture to be before pouring into the form. After drying, finishing and application of a sealer, our project came out very nice. We used the Quikrete to make a table top for an ourdoor bar.

    concrete countertop mix
a great product I've used dozens of time with great results. Any comments blaming the mix are laughable and are operator error.

BE CAREFUL! Bags are NOT labeled properly!
BE VERY CAREFUL PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT! I purchased 5 bags of this concrete countertop mix from Home Depot online. The order was available quickly and I went and picked it up at the Miamisburg, Ohio Home Depot. I had hired a contractor to install the countertops for me. I have two separate sections of countertops in my kitchen. The contractors mixed up and poured the first two bags and they looked great. The next two bags were lighter when the contractors mixed them up. They said that different dye lots can have different color intensities and that the two separate countertops would most likely dry out and be the same color. Unfortunately, when the countertops started drying it became obvious that one countertop was gray and the other was white. I had specifically ordered the gray mix, but had been given 2 bags of gray and 3 bags of white. All the bags were labeled identically, with the same numbers, and nothing to indicate what color of concrete was contained inside. It wasn't Home Depot's fault because there would have been no way for them to know the wrong colors were given to me. I called the QuikCrete company and talked to the local rep who confirmed and admitted that they do not label the bags appropriately, therefore he is providing me with more concrete to pour over top of mismatched counters, which I appreciate. However, because of the inconvenience of not having a kitchen to use for a week while waiting on the QuikCrete company to reach a decision on how to fix the problem, it has been an enormous, stressful hassle (not to mention that I have to pay the contractors to come out again). I am sure once the contractors pour the next layer of concrete and finish out the countertops, it will look great (very modern, clean and with a bit of an industrial edge), and I'm convinced it will work out but it's been a major headache thus far. Also note that the concrete does have some rocks in it and once you pour the concrete it will need to be sanded out then sealed to get a nice smooth finish. Also, because it is concrete, expect some cracks to show up as the concrete cures.

I did three countertops for an outdoor BBQ and all of them have shrinkage cracking. I did everything per the directions so I am not sure why this cracked so badly.

      Not worth it
I have done concrete counters with the 5000 psi stuff with much better results. This stuff is way more expensive, harder to work with and from what I can tell doesn’t give a better product. Don’t buy it

Poured the countertop on Sunday, by Wednesday I had a nice smooth surface on my new outdoor counter. Mold edging didn't stick and came off easy. A light sanding and buffing and it is ready to put a sealer on. Looks great the instructions were straightforward.

I bought 3 bags in total. The first two were old or moisture got in or something (I'm new to concrete so I'm not entire sure what happened there) but there were tons of large pieces that were already set and unusable. The third bag was great—no chunks and it turned out to be much easier to use. I don't know if the chunks are a quikcrete problem or a homedepot storing them the wrong way problem. In the end got the job done...so i guess it's fine... I would use this again but look out for how hard the bag feels if you are a noob to this like me.

First time pouring an outdoor kitchen countertop it went Very well. Doing the outdoor kitchen first to see how the countertops would turn out now I am getting ready to use the White concrete for my bathroom countertop remodel I love the stuff.

        Nope
Crap. YouTube reviews show it as too rocky and inconsistent a mix. Contacted quickcrete and they said it had no rocks -I still have the email. Setup with amount of liquid required to keep the high psi needed for countertops. Massively inconsistent. Some was soupy, some was rocky, overall a mess. Used plastic forms and 30% came out perfect. The rest was rocky and a mess. Had to patch and am still grinding to get it polished.

I bought 10 bags, 9 ok but one had hard lumps the size of my fist - no good when doing a countertop

        Crack
Crackapaloosa... no matter what you try with reinforcements and process, it cracks. For something that is markedly expensive, you would expect more out of it. Easy to work with, but not 100 percent happy with cracks in that I did the process per the instructions, on 2 different projects. Same results ...try harder quikrete...

The bag had white cement in it. There was a hand made sticker on the end of the bag with a different part number than what was on the manufactures bag, but was placed with the grey stock. I emailed and sent pictures to home depot, but was ignored. Very unhappy with Home depots negligence.
