Used it on 1/2", switched to 3/4". Tried to go back to half inch and the mechanism jammed. Tiny fragile cast metal slider is the culprit. Broke when I tried to free it up. Terrible design.

My project involved 3/4” and 1/2” pipe in very tight quarters. The auto tensioning of the cutter made the job easier and less hassle. The added benefit of the tool going from 3/4” to 1/2” with only one hand increased its worth to me.
Great product; a must have for your tool box.

I just got this tool as a replacement for an original unit that was defective. I’m thoroughly impressed that the manufacturer proactively reached out to me to fix a bad tool. Since that almost never happens (to me), it speaks volumes about a manufacturer who cares about their customer.
This cutter worked really well to quickly cut through ½” copper tubing with just two or three complete revolutions of the tool. If you’re accustomed to using a manual tubing cutter, you know that you must continually tighten the diameter of the cutting wheel every couple of revolutions as the blade cuts through the wall of the tubing. This can be a time-consuming process, particularly if you’re working around other pipes and obstructions that get in the way. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the way this cutter operates. This tool applies constant spring pressure to the cutter wheel, so there’s no need to manually tighten the diameter of the cutting wheel as the cut is completed. This makes for speedy cuts, and it’s super easy to use, slipping right over the copper tube without further adjustment. Setting the tool for ½” or ¾” copper pipe is done by sliding a small lever and pushing a button to either shorten or increase the width of the cutting head. The tool has a modest diameter of just 2-1/2” making it very easy to use in close quarters – it is smaller in fact than my “mini” cutter which measures 2-3/4” long.
The tool was easy to grab in the palm of my hand, and FAST cuts were EASY to make. If time is money, you’ll appreciate this tool. I like it a lot and would recommend it to others.

The C style Ridgid copper tubing cutter is an easy to use tool. It's solid and will go a long distance. Two sizes in one ( 1/2" & 3/4"). Snaps right into the 1/2" copper tubing for easy cutting. While having to cut a 3/4" copper tubing rather easy to switch sizes with a quick pull and push tab on each end to adjust between the sizes. Another great feature is the wheel pin is easy to remove for wheel cutter replacement. The wheel cutter, has cut nearly 30 copper tubing and still cutting. I'm pleased with the adjustable copper tubing cutter.

Ridgid’s 2 in 1 for cutting 1/2” and 3/4” copper tubing cuts fast and does what it should. I like that this is a 2 in 1... one less cutter to forget. It also allows for more room in the tool bag. The metal exterior is tough, although I am a little concerned about the long term reliability of the thin spring inside the pipe size selector.
The “compact” “C” shape construction is made to fit into tight spaces,; however, the profile isn’t as small as other cutters available. When this cutter fits into a small space, I like that there are 3 slots in the exterior that allow me to rotate it with a flat head screw driver. That was nicely thought out!
This 2 in 1 cutter does not come with an extra cutting wheel and as of this time, a replacement wheel (model E-3410) is not available on Homedepot.com That’s a bummer!
What makes this tool less desirable is the price. It costs as much as buying separate 1/2” and 3/4” cutters.

This is a good tubing cutter. The neat thing is with the flip of a lever you can change form 1/2 to 3/4" tubing. So you only need to keep one cutter in your toolbox for both sizes. Ridgid is also known for its lifetime warranty on tools. However, you must register your tool to receive the warranty. I had the issue that it asks for the serial number of the unit. That is very hard to find and its not on the tool. It is on the packaging to the left of the upc symbol. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is many times i find myself cutting tubing in tight spaces. This cutter is not a mini cutter and is actually quite large for cutting in tight spaces.

For years I have been using the older version which had a long stem. The length of the stem prevented me to cut around the copper tubing in tight places. Since I could not get 360 degrees cut aroung the pipe the cut was not perfect causing repirs a bit more difficult.
This clever designed "C" shaped tubing cutter from Ridgid is ideal for cutting tubing even in tight places. This cutter is ideal for 1/2" and 3/4" copper tubing; two most common size used around home plumbing. To change the cutter setting for proper size, simply slide the spring loaded size adjuster and you are ready to go. The blister pack shows how to change the size.
The cutting wheel is replaceable. Simply remove the three screws, slide the wheel holding piece out, remove and replace the wheel. Secure with three screws. Ridgid is known for high quality products and as such this meets my expectations. I highly recommend this product.
I received my Ridgid ½ in. – ¾ in. C-style adjustable copper tube cutter. I like the compact size and the fact I can carry just one tube cutter for most of the copper pipe I cut.
A lot of times I’m in an attic and I don’t want to carry anything more than I must. The directions say you can change a cutter wheel without tools, that’s a nice feature to have for a tubing cutter. It comes with a lifetime warranty but so far all my Ridgid tools have held up very well, I am very pleased with the speed it cuts copper pipe also.
Saved my hind several times in a tight space. I dropped it off a 12 foot ladder on to hard tile and it barely had a mark in it. Rugged, reliable and quality!

NICE BUT..
It’s a good tool but FORGET about any “LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY” like MANY OTHERS, the wheel pin broke, called ridged and THREE phontag numbers later told I USED IT TO MUCH to long and it didn’t break the first month so zero factory fault, but FAULTY USER for using it! Many pins break, wheels lost $ they STILL won’t fix or replace? The limited is basically a week lifetime! Now my nail/compressor won’t pump air, guess i did or didn’t use it enough. Ridged, YOU HURT MY FEELINGS! Smh.

Brand new out of packet doesn't cut half inch and barely cuts 3/4. Using on Irish copper pretty sure it's the same as US tho I'm not certain

Recently bought that worked perfectly cutting pipes quickly and cleanly. The only disadvantage I see with a spring loaded cutter is you need to place it on the pipe correctly the first time. If I moved it a small indentation can occur which could affect the effectiveness of a Sharkbite connection. But overall, a great tool, that sped up completing a number of projects.

Won't back the warranty
These are great until they break! You call tech service for help they say take it back to the store for an exchange. The store says you need to deal with tech support. The warranty is a joke!

It works great once I figured out how to work it. The instructions on or with the tool were nearly nonexistent. It’s not rocket science of course but and that isn’t Home Depot’s fault. But the toll cuts quickly and works great in tight places.
