I like the power station as a whole. What it is lacking is a rapid charge. If completely discharged it takes 10 to 12 hours to charge 4 batteries. And the charger that came with the unit has a unique connection to the power station. The adapter itself looks fragile and gets extremely hot when charging. I am concerned about the longevity of the charger. The power station performs as expected and the app is very useful.

Bought 2 to increase the power output and works. I wish it had 2 more options, WIFI connection the BlueTooth does not reach far as I need, and be able to use like a UPS for lost power support.

          Great initially, but not yesterday
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this almost 90 days ago with the hope that it would power my boat lift which it did flawlessly until yesterday when it kept failing/reporting an overload - glad I still had my gas generator. I posted a 5 star review not long after first using it so this is a follow up review. I'm running 2 6ah batteries and am hopeful that maybe it just got too hot. I have a few days to decide to either return it under Home Depot's 90 day return policy or possibly add a 3rd battery for more amps.

            It doesn’t even work…
I have been a Ryobi user for quite a long time now and have 20+ products. I have two issues and will be returning this product. First, one of the plug in ports does not work! Secondly, and probably the biggest issue is that on the first attempt to use it as an inverter, the LCD control screen read “System failure. Contact Ryobi” If it was just the plug that wasn’t working I would probably keep it, but with the inverter giving me the system error message, it’s not worth keeping for the price.

              Not for large appliances
The product is quite heavy so not very portable. It also doesn't stay charged as well as advertised so running appliances with it would be impossible. I run 3 portable fans in my car for 3-4 hours and all 4 batteries were at less then half charge.

It does power things, but so many flaws in this design. 1st proprietary power cable is a joke. 2nd can't use while plugged in. 3rd battery charging takes FOREVER. 4th Can only charge ONE battery at a time. 5th No solar panel option for eco friendly charging or what if you are not near a power source. Buyer beware make sure this is what your looking for. Also definitely not worth the price. For all the features is missing should be worth $500. I returned mine and bought the Anker 767 with solar panels yes its more expensive but definitely worth every penny. Not only higher in wattage 2400 compared to the 1800 ryobi comes with. It's quality is way better and also has solar charging compatibility. I think Ryobi either needs to drop the price of this unit or go back to the drawing board on this idea.

              good build and construction!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this exactly one year ago, today. I bought it planning to bring it to camp. Since then, it has been a staple at our campsites. Ive field tested it on different scenarios, heating, cooling and the occassional outdoor movie theatre treat. This power house has yet to disappoint. My wife has never left our tent with "bedhair" or "camping hair", as she has brought blowers, hair dryers and irons to camp. My big change was how i tailored buying new electronic equipment to fit with the max wattage capacity this powerhouse can take. The only issue i have now, is what excuse i have to justify buying a new set to daisychain this to produce twice the wattage! List of items used with the powerstation. Icemaker Penguino 3 in 1 cooler/fan/dehumidifier Oilheater 1500 watt Rice Cooker Blow dryer Iron Mosquito Zapper Electric Fan Epson projector Bose Speaker Community Charger for Cellphones, Tablets, and other powerbanks =) I cant seem to upload photos of this beast in action, but please comment your email and i will send you pictures!

Customer Service - Above and Beyond
Excellent home generator. I encountered a problem when used for the first time. After contacting RYOBI they went above and beyond and rectified the situation. This is a great generator and is very useful for home emergencies and when away from power on my property. Of my many RYOBI products this is the first that has failed and was professionally taken care of. Thanks RYOBI for great products and service.

                  Well made but limited versatility
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these as a portable power source as well as use for storm power outages. Living in Florida has lots of advantages and many challenges with power and storm outages. My plan is to battery power to run a garage refrigerator and garage freezer on one unit and use another unit for house refrigerator and additional lights etc. I already use a 40v inverter for my cable and tv and that works well. So I purchased the Power Station with 2 6amp batteries. I also purchased 4 12amp batteries to improve / increase my run time. Using 2 6amp & 2 12amp batteries, I connected the refrigerator & freezer to the power station to correct gauge the amount of run time I would get. I was very pleased to obtain close to 8+ hours on those 4 batteries. Very happy with this for short term power outages. Now that I have a baseline I need to figure out how to recharge the 40v batteries without using my gas generator. The Power Station does not have a solar connection capability& is VERY slow to recharge batteries in the unit. It also cannot provide power while it is used to charge the batteries. I am heavily invested in Ryobi tools and batteries so switching to a different manufacturer is not happening. Need to have a solar solution and rapid charger solution but is not offered by Ryobi. I will have to run my generator during the daytime for house needs and guess I will charge the batteries for overnight use.

Only charged half the batteries and error on the rest…Not easy with Home Depot or RYOBI to fix. Very disappointing product for the price.

                        Solid Built
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought this as a backup power source for my electronics. Then, I started using it for tailgating and camping and this thing is awesome. Solid Built. App work great with my Android phone. You can switch out batteries while it's being used. The only limit on Power Station is that it can only lay on 4 of the 6 sides.

                          Great indoor emergency power
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for two purposes. 1) Emergency power for our sump pump in case of a storm outage. 2) Extra batteries to use with my outdoor 40v tools. My unit came with four 6ah batteries.

Very easy to use. Initially received with a bad battery. Dissappointing but one call to Ryobi and another was on the way. Love the instantaneous digital power output. Love the ability to change batteries while in use, use different batteries or less than four batteries. Do not expect it to recharge the batteries quickly as it does them one at a time.

Going to be a no for me.
It's cool on paper, for $200 I might get one. Ryobi needs to offer a cost effective ($120) 700 watt unit. Enough to recool a refrigerator during a blackout with one battery. Nobody is paying $1000 for six hours of 1800 watts. That's solidly a job for a gas generator. But $120 to save my food in a short blackout, now you really have something truely marketable.

                                Super product
I have used this on Several occasions to power tools in the field and it has performed flawlessly. I wish it had a 12v port but it does what it does without a hitch. Also, i already had 2 6ah batteries so this worked out great. It is light enough to take anywhere.
