The Ryobi ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless Rotary Tool has been a valuable addition to my woodworking endeavors. It's become my go-to for achieving that perfect finished look on my craft pieces. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with its performance. My only minor gripe is the absence of a quick-off feature on the handheld part or the ability for the tool to stop rotating when the foot pedal is attached and no pressure is applied. Although it rotates at a slow speed in this state, it's a bit inconvenient as it prevents me from quickly setting the tool down. Nevertheless, it's a tool I appreciate having in my arsenal.

It’s a really powerful rotary tool that doesn’t bog down much even with larger sanding flap wheels on. The handle does vibrate a bit when using, but most rotary tools do, and it wouldn’t be fair to compare this to a Foredom 4x the price. The quick change collet took some getting used to, but once broken in, it was fantastic. The set of included bits is fine, but higher quality hits are easy to find. This took made short work of finishing the live edges on a large live edge project of mine.

It was working great until the flex shaft broke on it. I’ve only had it for 4 months and have used it a handful of times.

Can be a bit cumbersome but for what it is it's fantastic. I use it for hobby related projects. Be incredibly awesome if it was plug in and battery capable.

Decade+ with Ryobi 18V tools. Purchased only one in store. Special quick switch collet was machined improperly and didn’t work with bits. Spent 90 minutes on hold trying to get warrantied replacement just to find out they don’t send replacement parts. Returned.

Driving back from the store now. Had to return this. The interior rotary insertion bar (essentially the core) came out of the base unit and I was unable to fix it with a quick troubleshooting. I am going with the Dremel 8240 cordless.

It is not complicated at all and very easy to use.I love the fact that the battery last me for several uses.I also can use the battery with my other Ryobi tools

The powered unit is great and I love the size. Disappointed in this one. I have been replacing all my ryobi tools with the newer brushless ones. They have never let me down and often work beyond expectation. I love the aluminum handle on this one which is what made me spend $200 plus on this. Should’ve listened to the online reviews on this one. Can’t find the receipt, never had a need to really keep track of them. Looks like I lose on this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool about a month ago for work I work in an aerospace machine shop for 17 years I have used a Dotco precision variable speed rotary tool 0-40,000 rpm’s a rotary tool is one of my main tools the air powered ones are so loud I was not sure how this would do where it is slower than my Dotco . This is now my best tool the only this I wish is that the cord was longer but still I will buy another one again and I’m buying a cordless 4 volt one for crack weld repairs i rout out voids in welds a portable tool is necessary sometimes so I’m not running hoses around the shop thank you .

Wanted to go big and get "the best" rotary in the lineup. As seen in several reviews, the driveshaft cable is too short. Grinding noises, lack of engagement. When it works it works, when the cable isn't perfectly oriented, it's a mess. Can't recommend for the price point until they fix the driveshaft. The included sanding drum is insanely difficult to set the sandpaper on. Other bits are just way too cheap. Not the biggest problems, because the shaft issue is the main and major problem.

Speed control is nice I do have a small concern about the "whine" of the motor at around 16k-19k. sounds fine under and over those speeds.

I am using it on my 3D printed models, my UGears models and my wood working projects. I love the quick release and foot peddle option. Also the variable speed adjustment helps me do fine and detailed work!!! It's very comfortable in the hand and very quiet. I plan on using this for many more hobbies and crafts!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool has thousands of uses, heck, maybe tens of thousands! I have yet to find the end of its usefulness. There’s only one problem. I made the mistake of showing it off (hey, a proud new owner, you can’t blame me!) to my wife and now I hardly get to use it. I only seem to get custody of it when she’s asleep.

This is a excellent rotary, powerful, no vibration, light weight, and love the quick change system. we have not used the foot pedal attachment yet. Wish it could be used with the wIth hobby station. Hope ryobi rolls out more attachments!! Perfect addition to my craft tools!!!

Motor feels stripped when using this and pretty sure the plastic around the motor is getting so warm it’s going to melt on me. Chuck isn’t sturdy either. 75 ryobi tools now and might be dropping to 74. Not sure what more to say. Oh lastly, the battery doesn’t last long either. For the tool it’s being used with it should last a lot longer.

Did a bit a research before hand and needed something that would hold up to some heavy duty work. This was exactly what I needed. Replaced the Dremel I had and wouldn't hesitate to buy another

It’s way too heavy to do anything intricate. It is very uncomfortable to work with. Also the button to unlock bits is in a position where I keep pressing it while working which causes a loud grinding sound. The “quick change” tip has issues for me a lot of the time. I first purchased the earlier model, and quick change tip broke immediately. It’s nice that I can use my ryobi battery with this, but that’s about it. This thing is cumbersome.

The device broke within 2 hours of use, maybe 2 or 3 days after received. umbilical cord between the motor unit and the hand held near the motor unit snapped internally. Unit kept running resulting in the cord getting hot enough to melt the outer rubber. Actually started smoking and was extremely hot to the touch.

This item has performed beyond my expectations. I bought it because the lower end model destroyed its self.
