No problems. Works well but surprised by maintena
It meets my expectation for hot water. Was disappointed to learn of the annual maintenance required by authorized contractor. Seems excessive unless you have hard water. Not an expense I was expecting. Never needed with my conventional system.

We really love this product, especially went we ge
I like the fact that we have a good deal of hot water instead of running out, however I do wish the hot water was instant instead of waiting for it to get hot. We purchased and got it installed in early November of 2021.

Easy to use and looks nice
I’ve owned it for over a year. I like the design and space saving it gives, I dislike the minor gas odor that comes from it.

Our local gas company installed our unit. They were great. They did a good job installing and did not leave a mess. I love the HOT water.

          Hot water for DAYS
We've had our water heater installed for about 6 months now, and it still feels like a luxury. Where before we wouldn't have enough hot water in our tank to fill our bathtub all the way (at least to the warmth level we prefer), that is no longer an issue. It takes less time than our traditional water heater to warm up, and we can run a shower and at least one appliance simultaneously without a difference in temperature level. We recommend this continuous water heater to anyone in the market for a new water heater.

              So far so good
New home with natural gas tankless. 4 months in and love the performance and efficiency. Have not had a power outage yet when I needed to provide electricity to it but am hoping a small inverter generator will work.

Temp of Water is not hot enough
The temperature of the water does not get hot enough to wash dishes.

I have owned 2 Rinnai tankless water heaters over
I have had the 2nd one about 5 months now. Temp of hot water has dropped off about 5 - 7 degrees from when it was brand new. And of course certified Rinnai plumbers are unable to explain what is happening. Same with re-circulation system. Worked for 4 months....now nothing, And plumbers are at a loss as to why it won't work.

                    Temperature Inconsistency
In my master bath shower is hot immediatley but after 2 or 3 minutes it starts to cool down. It stays cool for approx 2 minutes then gets scalding hot. Please note this pattern happens when I do not adjust the temp. Because of the pattern, I have to adjust the temp constantly. Not good.

Takes too long to get hot water then it turns cold
I don't know what the benefits are I just know that it takes too long to get hot water and then it switches to cold again and then back to hot

Big house and it means we can all shower with hot
Meets expectations like that it takes less space does bot run on electric all day but gas on demand economical. Only thing is you have to wait for the hot water to travel to your location. No diff then with water tank though

                          Works Well but...
I've had my Rinnai system for 5 months now. While it works well, I'm disappointed that it seems it needs to detect a DEMAND for hot water in order to GET HOT. I have to fully open TWO faucets so the system detects the DEMAND I mention. When it finally does get hot, unless the water continues to run, when turning on the hot faucet within minutes, the water is no longer ... HOT. Again, it needs to heat up. Thankfully, this time it doesn't take SO LONG.

                            Very good But
Do like the instant hot water, but do not like that after a few minutes the water gets cold. Not great in the shower. Would like to see more info on setting up recirculate feature. How much does it cost to run? How much can I save by not running at night?

                              New Home Construction
Unit is 4 months old. Pros: Excellent product and tankless, cost effective Cons: Maximum temperature. We need to adjust something on the account hot water is not hot enough for us and we have to run the shower before entering. Our unit seems to not have the on demand hot water.

Hot water intermittent, gets cold suddenly
It saves space in garage or wherever it is installed I don’t like the spotty hot water, we’ve had it for 4 months and only because it came with the new house as an energy saving device. I still prefer tank .

                                  Unlimited hot water
Don’t really dislike any features. The fact it’s unlimited hot wAter during the off season I can add 150 gallons of 140 degree water to my pool and never run out. Can’t say much about the gas bill but that’s not Rinnais issue !

                                    Great product!
This is our 2nd Rinnai tankless hot water heater. Our 1st one in this house lasted 10 years only because the previous owners never had it serviced. . It needs to be flushed out every year especially with hard water We’ve had this one for a year now. We also had one in our previous house and loved it. Who doesn’t like endless hot water?!

                                      Very loud… like no other
It does a good job heating but sounds like a motorboat. Our Takagi (lasted17 years) was so much quieter.

First time owners of a tankless water heater
I enjoy the instant hot water. But I feel like it is running all the time(heating the water)

                                          Upgrade from traditional water heater.
When I purchased my new home in 2019, a rinnai water heater was already installed in the new homes in my area. At first, the equipment was not readily recognizable because the it is a departure from the traditional cylinder water heater. It was during the walk-in process when I was officially introduced to it by my the realtor. I was skeptical at first because the equipment was small, in deep contrast with the regular water heater. I think one remarkable feature of it is the absence of noise when heating up water. It has a remote button located inside the house that you can press to speed up the delivery of the heated water. Also, it is a space saver in the garage because the whole unit is installed against the wall vertically while a small cylinder component is hanging securely from the ceiling. Based on my usage limited experience, this water heater is highly reliable and is the epitome of the next level of water heating using a newer technology.

                                            Meets expectations
Likes: Sleek and simple design, easy to adjust water temp, and the best part I never run out of hot water! Dislikes: I have a gas unit, but it still needs electricity to produce hot water. It takes longer to get hot water through the fixture then it did with my old tank unit.

I had it installed. Too small for my shower. I had to spend money and time and was very frustrated for three months until I got it replaced by a 50 gal tank

                                                slow to heat water
It seems to take a long time to get hot water to all faucets. Even the kitchen sink which is located very close to heater. This is not my first instant-on heater so I know what is to be expected. P.S., I did not opt for circulating system because it was not needed in previous heater (at a different house) and running pump continuously would negate any energy savings.

                                                  Awesome quality product
From the packaging to the products themselves, every inch of this water heater and valve set is very good quality. I’ve used this heater for 2 months now and it is great. It has exceeded my expectations and I’m very happy that I chose Rinnai.

                                                    Ridiculously inefficient and a water-waster
Bought a new house with a Rinnai, So we didn’t use it, we were stuck with it. We’ve owned the house 4 months

                                                      Tankless water heater
Part of new house, installed in July, in use now for 4 months. Provides hot water on demand. Still takes 30-60 seconds to warm up enough for shower, even after another user in the previous 15 minutes. Water does not stay warm while washing dishes in kitchen sink if water is shut off or intermittently.

                                                        Perfect unit for our needs
Chosen for size and cost efficiency, very effective. Our only issue is that we experience a lot of power outages, so getting the generator hooked to all appliances plus the water heater is a bit cumbersome.

                                                          Satisfied with the Rinnai
Had the use of the Rinnai since October 4th. One item I do not like about the Rinnai is setting the clock for on-off timing. For older people laying on your back with a flashlight to read it is very difficult

                                                            Water heater replacement
This is our second Rinnai water heater in this house, a replacement of the one we installed about 10 years ago when we moved in. The tankless heater is the way to go, very efficient, if you do not turn on your hot water for a week, it uses no gas (there is no shutting it off if you are going away for a week to save energy). It does seem to take a bit longer to get hot water to the faucets, and using it on very low, like when I shave, does not seem to work. The heater does not seem to know if it should be on or off, so cycles. I also believe the highest temperature is lower than most water heaters I have owned before this. High temp is 120, which is sufficient, but at times wish I could get hotter.
