Great coverage in one coat. Fantastic color to refresh our 20 year old resin toad statue for our patio. Amazing what a can of paint can do.

I used this product on some plastic shelves I bought for my sons room. I sanded and prepped the shelves and then sprayed this directly to the plastic. The coverage was great and it dried hard and seems to have been a great decision to use. My son has his Lego sets displayed on them and the paint hardened enough that the sets don’t stick to it. This was a worry of mine since we’ve had that issue in the past. I did wait a week to let them fully harden. My only complaint is HD only had two cans so I had to go elsewhere for more.

first coat great. second coat bubbling up
I recently painted a metal frame the first coat went great and overall looked really well except I was a little light in one area. So I decided to give the whole frame a second coat and for some reason about half of the frame started bubbling up looking almost like snakeskin. Per the instructions I waited 48 hours for the second coat it fertainly was completely dry. TBD if I will be able to recover this with some sanding

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear Mike. Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint can be recoated in under 1 hour or after 48 hours (longer at cooler temperatures), do not sand before recoating. The second coat of Painter's Touch dissolved the film (skin) that had formed from the first coat, this is what causes wrinkling. Give us a call at 800-481-4785 so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right.

Amazing!
Got this beat up, sun weathered sandbox looking BRAND NEW. The last time I spray painted it didn’t go well at all. Application was so easy. Amazing coverage. I’ve seen some negative reviews but I can say I really don’t have a bad thing to say at all. Used 1 can fully plus a bit from a second can (did 2 coats...but I’m not sure if it was necessary, the first coat covered so well). Time will tell as far as wear, but so far I am impressed!

2X? Maybe not
The description implies 2 x the coverage. This satin heirloom white is a nice color for furniture but the coverage is not great. I used two full cans on this small cabinet which was previously stained. I cleaned and lightly sanded prior to spraying. In the photos you can see a cloudiness on the top surface which is an uneven sheen. I would never imagined this little cabinet would take three cans. I have currently given it 4 coats and it needs more to even out the sheen????? Love the color but not the number of coats this is taking.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Depending on the condition or color of the surface, additional coats of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint may be needed. If the surface is more porous, like unfinished wood, or it is a contrasting color, then a primer can be used to help with coverage.

Peel, bubble, and cracking
The coverage is not 2x for this paint, its actually quite poor and all 3 projects inhave uaed it on resulted in twice the number of coats being needed. On one project, a childs pinweood derby car, rustoleum clear coat made the paint immediately bubble, peel, and crack and ruined the car. I wont be using this paint ever again.

That was not the intention! Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X Spray should be recoated within 1 hour of the previous coat or after 48 hours has passed. If you recoat before the first application of paint has skinned over and begun to dry to the touch, the two coats will dry correctly. However, if recoated at the wrong time, it may wrinkle blister or crack, which sounds like what you are experiencing. Simply put, to apply a second coat, the first coat must be very dry or very wet - never in between. To fix this, try sanding the surface, wait 24 hours and apply again. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum
